I believe this was recorded at the time rather than remixed although I'm sure I will be corrected if wrong.  For DB fans - this is worth a look
Thank you RP ... I don't believe I've ever heard this fun track. Canada protected us from too much "foreign" music back then lol.
Hearing the Talking Heads with horns is a new experience.
Fun to hear - what memories.  I listened to WLIR all the time back in the day (in New York); it was THE alternative/new-wave station in the late 70's-80's.
Not a big fan of the remix.

Interesting introductory comments by William.  Paraphrasing he thinks this song would have been a sure hit had it landed on his desk as a radio programmer back around the release of their debut, 77.  But the interesting part is he's glad that the single that did, Psycho Killer, was the one released as the single back then.  Of course implying that the trajectory of the band may have been different were they switched (based on the obvious differences between the two songs).    Some nice insight there from him.

I don't think any TH fans would disagree with you one bit, Wiliiam!  And the great thing is songs like Pulled Up, which is a fantastic song by the band, can still be enjoyed along with the rest of their outstanding catalog.

Cool song/version indeed, but does this mean we´re going to hear it in almost endless rotation, like so many other TH/DB songs?  Please just occasionally, so we don´t get sick of it, k?
Nice, but I don't think the horns add a lot.

It's impossible to overestimate the importance and influence this fantastic, innovative band had on us back in the day! Such unbridled exuberance and wacky fun!

some goober on this board awhile ago said "yea man the problem with rock n roll is it was totally solved by 1972"...

sure.  Talking Heads? trash.  Queen? Elvis Costello? the Police? trash, trash trash!
I would argue that "Take Me to the River" was just a big a hit as "Psycho Killer" was. But this song is amazing.
LOVE THE HORNS

Thank you for that William!
Thank you for introducing me to this, William!
I totally agree that this version is incredible, as is the alt version of Psycho Killer.

needed this now!!!!
I'm a bit distracted by the horns, yet it manages to underscore the TERRIFIC rhythm section along with Jerry's funky, clean guitar. My head's a bobbin'!

The version is interesting but lacks the power and weight of the original version IMHO. The horns segment detracts and sounds a bit too "light and fluffy." But glad to hear it nonetheless!

I am very curious to hear the remastering impact, they tend to do a great job. And this is such a classic album. Perhaps one of the top 10 all-time best first album releases.

I share your cinamons.

Talking Heads - I just have to love it
