What is it with Radio Paradise and Talking Heads. I have to disconnect every time this band comes on cause it is just painful to listen; which is way too often cause you play them way too much. This is my only complaint against the station as a long time listener, but it is a big one!

Did you really post this 18 years ago? Had any change of heart and mind, after 18 years of being brainwashed to TH music by RP?
Just goes to prove .. several Creatures on here not quite showing the Love

I think this band is hit-and-miss really... Sometimes I love what I hear and sometimes I think it is lame and even kind of awkward.  I honestly wonder how much of their adoration stems from the fact that they were pioneers in the music scene and how much is really because the music is worth a damn in the grand scheme of things.

The same can be said of a lot of the older bands I guess...

I'd say the fact that they were pioneers shows the music definitely was worth a damn in the grand scheme of things, much more than bands where every song might be good, but nothing new.
Far from my TH favorites. But still

All TH albums are HITS including True Stories and Naked!!!!
EXCELLENT!!

awful country type tune. Weren’t these classed as a rock band?

Wow! Surprising amount of negativity here. Guess I'm seriously out of sync...I've always liked this one. At least a 7 in my house (please don't burn it down!).

I'm accustomed to the TH hate fest. Some people just don't get them. That's okay. But don't vomit over a great song because it doesn't appeal to you.
Ah, the album when my passion for TH began to slip (off a cliff)....
If they decide to, they'll make little creatures
Watch 'em now!
Little creature of love
With two arms and two legs
From a moment of passion
Now they cover the bed

lol
Why is this in the Mellow Mix? It's not all too mellow...
Some of their stuff is brilliant, this is not one of those.

Yikes. Big fan of Byrne but never need to hear this again.

Talking Heads had a bunch of hits, most of which still sound fresh and great, with a unique style and great vocals, often triggering involuntary dance steps. Creatures of Love just isn't one of them. Ten best songs:

And She Was
Burning Down The House (original, better than Tom Jones' cover)
Road To Nowere
Take Me To The River (great cover)
Wild Wild Life
Once In A Lifetime
Psycho Killer
Naive Melody
Flowers
Life During Wartime

The worst vocals in music history! I’d rather hear Tiny Tim any day!!! Yuck.

Which says more about your taste in music than about the DB's vocal qualities, I guess
Trademark David Byrne lyrics - TH era at least. H takes a simple subject and offers simple lyrics with a suitably propulsive rhythm and unfussy melodies. It just works, just like it does with so many of his other songs.
His songs didn't get any better when he went solo, but the quality of the musicians improved enormously. Especially on his 1994 album just called David Byrne (he has long hair on the cover).

Really?  Why?

I suppose it's subjective. I'm biased because I'm not a David Byrne fan...but to me, the lyrics seem really banal. However, I do like the music. Thanks for asking.

If you're going to err, it may as well be on the too much side of Talking Heads. Keep it up.

Agreed. I was just wondering why so much talking heads??
