They'd flock to me, bathe me in the wine
I know that's not the way, I know that's not how things are to be
(My baby left, my baby left, gone, gone, gone, gone)
I was always looking and I held until the time began
Solo things come at me, I look to see where loss had ran
I can have the sun it come and touch me on my shoulder
Think of all the things that I could, wish that I had told her
I fly so high then fall so low
(I fly so high, I fly so high)
If I was beautiful, if I had the time
You would flock to me and bathe me in the wine
I know that's not the way, I know that's not how things are to be
If I was like you with nothing to get around
Then everything would be beautiful as far as I can see
You'd be sitting here with me 'til love's end
I fly so high then fall so low
I fly so high then fall so low
Signs of love (I fly so high) away we could run (then fall so low)
I can see the light come peering through the sky in my mind (I fly so high)
Closing people come in but also lying on the floor
I would hold you in my arms until we both are home (then fall so low)
I would hold you in my arms until we both are all alone
Can't get past the childish album cover. Music needs some mystery around it to create its magic (trust me), especially when it's trying to be mysterious! This cover says, "Look at me! That's me, Moby! The guy making all this music here! I'm dressed like an astronaut and pretending to be on another planet. Hi!!" First thought on seeing this is so much for the mystery, the guy's a wanker!
I'm curious, who are some of your favorite musical artists? Let me guess, some of them have pictures themselves on their album covers. Fess up!
I started with newer Moby and didn't really get the techno diss from Eminem until I heard Go.
Same but even at the time of the diss I didn't think that was Moby's sound.
Gonna need a bit more than one objectively false statement to go on before I start trusting you, skippy.
What if that is Moby writing that? He did say 'trust me'.
What are these? Chinese spy balloons?
You will see their incisors :)

Sounds like he says "sonic cone".

It looks like he's giving a TED talk.
Outstanding! I love the new album. It's serving overtime duty in my CD player these days. It's perhaps not quite as good as "Play" but so what.
awesome that this has been around 19 years - I had to read that twice...a what player?
Is it possible to hear a track without hearing influences or similarities? "Streets of Philadelphia" here, for example. I sometimes miss the beauty of a piece by spending so much effort working out where it comes from.
IKR? I try to stop myself from doing that and just listen...I have to close my eyes and not read the comments.
I listen to techno and Eminem. There's room for both in this world. Moby is hardly techno anyway, is he now?

Too Funny!
What a musically uneducated man you are!
Well, MOBY creates all this beautiful music on its own!

Srsly? When you like an artist they do good things. When you don't like an artist, even the most innocuous act is somehow offensive, unworthy, etc.
Whatevs.

Moby says it's his process. He only composes during bowel movements. Good catch.

14 years later I still listen to techno, and still think Moby is great, one of the best live gigs ever

Thanks Bill.
i know, there are other artists which get that much of playing as well....but with all respect, most of them are musically better and left a mark in musical history.
Maybe - as often in life - less is/would be more...
just saying....

I like Moby, but this is pretty damn funny.
Yeah but - it works... Solid 7 here keep it comin'

These songs have, weirdly, meant a lot to me. Wishing him well!
Same! Brings back memories of a great period of life in the late 90s.
Remember how they used a couple of songs of Play in the X-Files, too? Haunting!
Bush, Jr — father of Daesh.
Democratic voters — grandfathers of Daesh.
What would happen if Steven Wilson produced a Moby album.....
In the meantime, I agree with RDO, Moby hit it out of the park with this one.

For me, music appreciation is mostly a search, no, a quest, for the aesthetic highs and bliss that come from a song like this one. I slog through many many endless hours of "ho-hum" and "meh" just so every once in a while I will experience something truly moving.
This song is a gem, defo not boring.
Watching vegans setting light to their farts is hilarious.
More of an explosion, not the same as a carnivor/omnivore's flame.

Yet again, I find myself in agreement with Proclivities.
We're always being told stateside how much better the British school system is. Well, I guess there are always going to be exceptions. With that in mind, pop quiz! If labor are a bunch of commies but ownership are a bunch of capitalist stock holder of a publically traded company, how many miles to the gallon does a 2011 V70 get?

If they're not allowed to have any animal products in or near their mouths then I guess a lot of fun things are prohibited. Just sayin'.

The whole album is simply wicked.
This "chilled out" Moby is my favourite.
His upbeat techno stuff is decent, but I love zoning out to this stuff.

Gotta have meat to make love. Well, unless you're lesbian.
Way to perpetuate stereotypes about Texans!
Yeah, it was all those cavemen eating woolly mammoths that ended the ice age.
Maybe so maybe no, but they definitely make better lovers.

My thoughts exactly.
Maybe so maybe no, but they definitely make better lovers.
...i think it means he needs to move on from the same cheap stock synth pads he employs so ubiquitously...
