As a 'youth' i was more familiar with Bad Company than with a lot of the Free material, with the obvious exceptions, of course. When i was 'teaching' myself to play drums - not until i was in my 20's i might add, Bad Company's music and in particular Simon Kirke's drumming was invaluable to me at that time, and still is. Reading the bio for Free here, i wondered - 'is he (Simon Kirke) still with us?' - so i went looking to find out, and happily, here at 25th March 2026, i can report - yes he is . .

Indeed this is (easy on my soul). Made me look up from my desk-based grunt work to check it out - transported me right to this magical musical time that was the early 70s.
