Well dammit, William. It took a while but you converted me. I finally like her voice. It also doesn’t hurt that the production on this song is beautiful. I’m a sucker for a subtle steel guitar.
Saw Faye Webster in 2022 at Thing in Port Townsend. Immediately forgot about it because I was buzzing over some of the more okay Sparks. Sparks was the highlight; I have to constantly remind myself who else was there.
So anyway I'd go see her in a club but maybe the festival thing swallows her up.

The pedal steel! I first heard her when she opened for Wilco in Oakland. I heard the southern accent. I was smitten. (I'm from NC.) I watched her video for "I know I'm funny ha ha." Girl's got mad yo-yo skills and she's a chess player! Planning to see her at The Greek this September.
Ohhhh! a Pedal Steel thingy! Combined with her odd vocals, Makes this song is oddly compelling.
Wonder what this would sound like with a different vocalist? Like Joni Mitchell. The music itself is so nice.

Sometimes, it takes me ages to get into a song. This song had me before the chorus.
