This one and their debut single (Seventeen): indie pop at its finest. Also love how they keep themselves out of the public eye (what, no Wikipedia page?!)

Funny how these clear throated Skandyish Folk clones all sound alike. Voices or AI?
I really love this and I think the producer didn’t mix the volume in the entire song well… and I love the song

Maybe they're just private and believe, as professionals, that their music stands on its own. Thre are so many reasons that don't preclude being professionals.
And for all we know, they mentor other musicians all the time.

I struggled with a rating on this for awhile. The song seems built around a strong hook (the chorus), which gets a bit repetitive, and the rest kind of sounds like whiny noodling that was tacked on, so idk. All parts of a good song should stand on their own. I liked it the first few times I heard it, but it just doesn't seem to age well on repeat listens for me.
Also I'm not sure what's up with the idea of an "anonymous" band... professionals are always proud to stand up and represent their craft and mentor others.

The local AAA spun 'Seventeen' a ton a couple years ago----great tune that would fit well with the rest of the RP playlist. With exposure on RP---might be a good idea to get some web presence.

Despite a Scandinavian name and a sound that could pass for Nordic pop, Sjowgren ("show grin") is an indie pop trio from California. A retro-soul edge is provided in large part by the unaffected alto of their lead vocalist, who, along with bandmates, prefers to remain anonymous. After releasing an EP of demos in 2015, their EP win'20 arrived in 2020.
Sjowgren emerged early in 2015, when they uploaded a few self-recorded, guitar-based songs that were collected for the Demos EP that June. The same month, they released the summery single "Seventeen," which offered a fleshed-out, full-band arrangement. The song was featured in a commercial for an online marketplace early the next year. Sjowgren's follow-up single "Now & Then" hit streaming charts in early 2017. A year later, they returned with a pair of stand-alone tracks, "Beginners" and "Better Off," before re-emerging in 2020 with the self-released EP win'20.
