But maybe that's a lie
Honey, what's your hurry?
Won't you stay inside
Remember not to get too close to stars
They're never gonna give you love like ours
Where did you go?
I should know
But it's cold and I don't
Wanna be lonely so show me the way home
I can't lose another life
Hurry, I'm worried
The world's a little blurry
Or maybe it's my eyes
The friends I've had to bury
They keep me up at night
Said I couldn't love someone
'Cause I might break
If you're gonna die, not by mistake
So where did you go?
I should know
But it's cold and I don't
Wanna be lonely so tell me you'll come home
Even if it's just a lie
I tried not to upset you
Let you rescue me the day I met you
I just wanted to protect you
But now I'll never get to
Hurry, I'm worried
Where did you go? I should know
But it's cold and I don't wanna be lonely
Was hoping you'd come home
I don't care if it's a lie
For now just straight to 8
I dunno. I don't mind her music, it just doesn't do much for me. It seems there's always drama involved with the lyrics. Bob was pretty funny sometimes... and those were some of my fav songs of his. Maybe Billie is too... I just haven't heard that.
Especially when it presents unconventionally.
I remember the same attitudes to Kate Bush when she was young. I thought she was amazing then also. It just takes some a few years to catch up with reality. :-)
Is this what early exposure to pornography does to you?

I've decided Billie belongs in the 5th grade. She sings like she could fit in there.
Although Billie Eilish is likely popular with the fifth-grade set, she is in the unusual position of also being popular with many older and theoretically more mature adults. Kudos to Billie for making very individualistic music that happens to be liked by many.
While I don't care for her voice or music, I hope she continues to gain popularity through pop stations.
Twee cutesy-pie voices are just sooooo 20s, my dear.
Good thing it's the 20's then!
Who is this Billie Ellish guy anyway? Sings like a girl.
Your comments here suggest they cut that flat top about three inches too low.
Another pop fad that will be gone soon enough.
You forget to yell "... AND GET OFF MY LAWN!" ;-)
I think she's done some pretty cool stuff but I guess it depends on what one considers "classically trained". From what I've read about her, she was in an organized, LA children's chorus when she was a kid, not enrolled at Berklee or Juilliard.
..you obviously forget how to judge quality music as well. Solid 1
BWAHAHA!! Who died and made you the standard body of quality mate? Have fun with your opinions and hop back in your pickup and listen to your golden oldie 8-tracks.

Now that wasn't very nice
I wonder what happened to Laurie Anderson?
It would be nice to hear a song from her once in a while.
I see two tracks in the RP library but neither is in rotation.
Anything from Big Science would be great! . . .
..that is an insult! solid 1
I am an old fart now at 56, and I cannot get enough of this artist. Although I cant seem to remember how to pronounce her last name.

Kate bush of this generation. solid 8

Laurie Anderson was one of the most amazing concerts/live art I´ve ever seen.
Jeez - we sound like a load of out-of-touch old people complaining in exactly the way our grandparents did about 'that rolling rock music - it's just noise'. Some of the music my kids listen to is amazing!!!! I'd like to see more of it on here to be honest.
Aging is something we will all go through. Given this, I am embarrassed for ever complaining about older generations perspectives. How self-centered was that??
I feel like I hit "pass" for this person every few songs. I don't get it -- she is horrible and creepy, and also massively overrepresented on the playlist. I know people will tell me to go find a different radio station if I don't like it, but I have enjoyed RP over the years and have donated. I just don't get the obsession with certain artists, where they are both objectively awful and pop up incessantly--Natalie Merhant is another. If an "eclectic' radio station wants to attract and retain listeners, it seems like they would curate the playlist a little bit better instead of playing so many songs from artists with middling rankings. I happily sit through certain novelty songs that other listeners object to because I know it's just the one song from one silly act. Having to listen to Billie Eilish et al. for what seems like every third song is painful and making me seriously consider giving up.
There's no such thing as "objectively awful". Our apprehension, appreciation and enjoyment of music is entirely subjective.
- the hypersensitive adolescent
- the slut with a multi-million marketing department
Both making pointless and depressing music.
I listen to a lot more variety than my kids and am generally more open. I don't hate Billie's music, but the hype is a bit much.
Some of the writing is brilliant. The simplicity is audacious and yet it always works.
Formulaic Pablum, Nothing to see here...
"objectively awful", eh? How do you know?
Similar in some ways but this is more melodic than most of the work I've heard from Laurie Anderson.

So true, esp. considering it was released in 2019, which just goes to show how crappy 2020 has been, eh? LLRP!!
Not sure what's up with sharing links in comments but you should look it up and watch it!
With RP you have to take the mostly good with the occasional bad.
But this is really bad.
She still lives at home with her parents and her brother (who she made this recording with) so that's a good sign. She seems very down to earth so far. I too hope she stays away from the bad stuff as I too think she is very talented.
But way better.
And unlike Th*m Y*rke, she's actually a female and actually whispers (unlike his usual moaning). With that being said, I doubt his masculinity as well.
Maybe Thom is also - her? In that case, all is forgiven.
But way better.
Thank you. Very well said. I've seen and read as much about her & her brother, as I could find so far. I really hope she sticks with it....psyched to see what they do in the years to come. H8ers need to appreciate the artist, if not the music. Imo, they are absolutely fantastic!!
Perhaps you may look into more about her & her brother. Amazing story and, c'mon...just look at what she's achieved, at such a young age!! Cut the kid some slack!! She's more accomplished than many of her veteran peers!!
Yeah, I've heard that, and I like it better than this. I think her "thing" is pretty interesting, but overall, lacking in dynamism, making it seem monotonous and 'one trick pony' -like.

Me too. Thanks!
Music is pretty cool, though. 7.
I think it is the Exorcist / Linda Blair vibe.
