I don't want to wait anymore I'm tired of looking for answers
Take me some place where there's music and there's laughter
I don't know if I'm scared of dying but I'm scared of living too fast, too slow
Regret, remorse, hold on, oh no I've got to go
There's no starting over, no new beginnings, time races on
And you've just gotta keep on keeping on
Gotta keep on going, looking straight out on the road
Can't worry 'bout what's behind you or what's coming for you further up the road
I try not to hold on to what is gone, I try to do right what is wrong
I try to keep on keeping on
Yeah I just keep on keeping on

I hear a voice calling
Calling out for me
These shackles I've made in an attempt to be free
Be it for reason, be it for love
I won't take the easy road

I've woken up in a hotel room, my worries as big as the moon
Having no idea who or what or where I am
Something good comes with the bad
A song's never just sad
There's hope, there's a silver lining
Show me my silver lining
Show me my silver lining

I hear a voice calling
Calling out for me
These shackles I've made in an attempt to be free
Be it for reason, be it for love
I won't take the easy road

I won't take the easy road
The easy road, the easy road

Show me my silver lining, I try to keep on keeping on
Show me my silver lining, I try to keep on keeping on
Show me my silver lining, I try to keep on keeping on
Show me my silver lining, I try to keep on keeping on

Something good that comes from something bad.

Extremely catchy, lots of hooks. Love it.

If I am not mistaken, some sort of Scandinavians, who dwelled in the city of York and around some 1K yrs ago, had had something to say in the formation of English language.

I know that aspect of the history of the English language.  My comment was meant as a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek response to a prior post from someone who was belly-aching about  "...Scandinavian singers who aren't native English speakers" and that "the rhythms, the beats, the vocalization, (are) all just a little off...".
Perhaps my initial comments make more sense in that context.

Actually, about 1,000 years ago, English and Norwegian were so similar, if you spoke one, you would understand the other. Interesting to see where we've come.
9 -> 10

I try not to hold on to what is gone, I try to do right what is wrong
I try to keep on keeping on

Listening to this song while sheltering at home during the COVID-19 pandemic: shivers!
I love this group!
I dunno, I find those "distinctive Scandinavian rhythms and beats" kinda sexy BECAUSE they're just a bit off.
Love First Aid Kit, and this song is one of my faves.

Not sure if you're talking about the words or the music. I usually find the "off-ness" charming. As lyricists they can take the language into interesting directions, not falling into the same traps that native English singer/songwriters do. Granted it doesn't always work but I usually give an extra point or 2 for effort.

hmmmmm, think they'll pay exorbitantly for my trash Eddie Bauer flannel shirts and some cases of PBR?
7 but this is my first listen. I might raise this after a few more listens.

Love it, fantastic string arrangement,
The band name is well chosen. Every time I had to endure these very uncomfortable medical treatments in the hospital I did put on my headset and played this song and these girls dragged me through it. True story.
addictive.
Currently used on a car ad in the UK.
Obviously aimed at the american market but in a quite sweet and genuine way.
I love a bit of steel and fingerpicking once in a while.

What do you have against Dancing Queen?

Me too, so far I've liked everything I've heard from them.  And as a bonus, they're easy on the eyes. {#Hearteyes}

I get a kick out of seeing this group pop up on RP when I'm at work. Firstly, I dig their music. Secondly, I work for a medical supply company in the division that handles first aid kits, so this is kind of like a weird "house" band.

Lucky you are!  How were they?  It's okay if you don't want to elaborate, too.
The first couple of verses have horribly awkward phrasing.
Wow, the first two notes are the same as the start of Vapor by Euphoria - I was surprised that the third and subsequent went off in a different direction.
Looking forward to watch them live in Amsterdam, next Monday :)

The line "keep on keepin' on" reminds me of the greatest hit of the same name by the short-lived and much-lamented (by me, at least) Redskins (nowt to do with Native Americans, but referring to the group members being socialist skinheads). Danceable agitprop which always gets me going - see the YouTube video. No relation, musically or politically, to First Aid Kit, who are a fine group. It's just that my mind's meandering on a sweltering Friday afternoon whilst carrying out pointless wage-slavery in the monastery I'm currently imprisoned in...

More than a touch of Basia Bulat.
Countrified Abba.

YES!!! A new album!! This news just made my day. I've listened to their previous album probably more often than these ladies would care for, yet i adore it still.
