It’s now or never,
المرة الأولى
Come hold me tight
جاني غرامك
Kiss me my darling,
Be mine tonight
حلالي عمري
Tomorrow
ومعاك
will be too late,
كل حياتي
It’s now or never
وحدك
My love wont wait.
يا عمري

Just like a willow,
We would cry an ocean
If we lost your love
And sweet devotion
Your lips excite me,
Let your arms invite me
For who knows when
Well meet again this way

It’s now or never,
Come hold me tight
Kiss me my darling,
Be mine tonight
Tomorrow will be too late,
It’s now or never
My love wont wait.

Loving this, his version of Rock the Kasbah is amazing
This is kind of fun. Loosen up some of you!
Muito bom!!
Holy cow.

Things exist in this world that defy explanation, such as this track.

I'm at a loss... 2? 8?

Great version.. These kind of combinations really make the RP special.
This is a well performed and interesting rendition.

I understand it upsets those who only want to hear the Elvis version.  But one of the main reasons I listen to RP because they play interesting songs like this.
SUPERB!!   May he Rest In Peace!   Thanx RP!
Odd song, quite eclectic. One sign of a well done cover is if you cannot easily remember who did the original. Took me a few minutes :-)
Man I thought I hit the wrong bottle for a moment there
Easy 9
Is this an arabic cover of  "O Sole Mio"?

Sounds alot like China Forbes. In fact, it sounds like they just lifted part of the Pink Martini version (which is much better!).
How romantic!

female singer is: Jeanne Added

J'adore ce mec. So artist. RIP Rachid
I love it when I hear something I've never heard before, come look at the page, and find I've already rated it. Was a 7, but that's worth a bump up.
Where else am I going to hear this stuff besides RP? Thanks, Bill.

I can't help but think the Arabic lyrics should be right justified since they are read right to left... :-)

I came here to say just that!
Nah.
Great - now I know how to ask for a cornetto in Algerian
Yes. No Brainer!
That's a fun take on a song I've known all my life.
That's why I like rp, some unexpected but nice and interesting songs (or cover versions like that) from time to time!

I disagreed with you the first time and I hope I won't cause offence if I disagree with you again. I think this a truly wonderful cover and a rating of 5.2 from my peers forces me to disagree with them as well. Apologies for being so disagreeable.
well !!!! very very interesting cover !  :-)
Is it just me, or does anyone else fancy an ice-cream?
Ouch
Who is the female? She's good.

Looks like Bill wants people to stop listening to the station and go somewhere else, cos' Taha comes back more and more often.

Looks like Bill has musical taste and you need to go back to listening to your local country station.

{#Sick} challamachallemachalla....

yeah, I think this is pretty cool too, what a great expletive-sounding gravelly voice, contrasted so silkily with the female voice, also the instrumentation in the background offers an unusual rhythm.  Yes, great interpretation.
I think this is a pretty cool rendition of this song.
Beats the hell out of Anna Ternheim's version of Fly me to The Moon.

This guy's voice is grating and annoying. Yet, despite the numerous "1" ratings, his songs continue to get airtime... I suspect he is Bill's brother-in-law or he has illicit photos of Bill from the 80's.

I anxiously await the wannabe musicologists telling me to "open my mind" (as if being closed-minded is the reason that I do not find this man's music mellifluous).

This from a guy that gives a 9 to a Bruce Springsteen song... Speaking of annoying voices...

{#Daisy}I really like this! Can't believe so many others rated it so low.
love it!
Excellent song. Sound quality / recording has a open surrounding feel, great drumming, suspense/tension in the delivery, haunting female vocals, familiar lyrics and melody, exotic middle eastern (Algeria/France) atmosphere.
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches be dancing buck ass naked all across the holy moly world like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners and B.F. Skinner...  we love this splendiferous song...  love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...

Sorry, not seeing any racism here.  The song was used to advertise Wall's Cornetto ice cream in the UK.  Disliking something doesn't warrant playing the race card.

That's because the background singer is singing in english.
It's not just in your head.

And yes, many of my friends say I'm a smart ass.

Now this is a cover not just a copy. Double wow!

He claims to be the inspiration behind the Clash's Rock the Casbah.
MAKE IT STOP!   {#Hand}
Sounds like it was recorded in the original Memphis...
eccheè 'sta monnezza??
Unusual.  Not really sure what I think about this.  I keep hearing the English words in my head.
So this song really got me to thinking.  Would I like it as much if I had never heard the original?  Possibly.
How many other classic songs can make the transition to another language and still sound good?
When an english speaking song is played in a foreign country does it get the bad reviews because the local populace doesn't understand the words?
If you don't understand the lyrics, does the voice just become another instrument that lends to the melody?

All questions that will have to wait until I have more coffee.

Anyone for a falafel platter from Garbanzo's (https://www.eatgarbanzo.com/menu_restaurant.php). Yummo!  Tutakea you in? {#Heartkiss}
