Little broken hearts of the night
Slowly picking up their knives
On the way to the fight
Tonight they want revenge
Beautiful soldiers in their beds
Making love inside their hands
With no chance to defend
Tonight could be their end
With the weapons in their hands
And their eyes closed as they stand
Can they end it all tonight so easily?
Did the darkness of their days
Make them let go of their light?
Will they want to find a way
To make it all right?
When the beautiful awake
See the sadness in their eyes
Will they want to find a way
To make it all right?
To make it all right?
Only the fallen need to rise
What if lightning strikes them twice?
Will they give up on their lives
And finally divide?
Did the darkness of their days
Make them let go of their light?
Can they ever find a way
To sleep side by side?
When the beautiful awake
See the sadness in their eyes
Will they ever find a way
To sleep side by side,
To sleep side by side,
To sleep side by side?
Slowly picking up their knives
On the way to the fight
Tonight they want revenge
Beautiful soldiers in their beds
Making love inside their hands
With no chance to defend
Tonight could be their end
With the weapons in their hands
And their eyes closed as they stand
Can they end it all tonight so easily?
Did the darkness of their days
Make them let go of their light?
Will they want to find a way

Did the darkness of their days
Make them let go of their light?
Can they ever find a way
To sleep side by side?
When the beautiful awake
See the sadness in their eyes
Will they ever find a way
To sleep side by side,
To sleep side by side,
To sleep side by side?

If you want a fun night... try explaining the lyrics of this song to a footballler.
Fun Fact: The summer after her breakout album she was playing Wolf Trap. This is a smallish outdoor facility in Norther Virginia. I heard an interview with the guy who was managing the facility. The interviewer asked how in the world he was able to book her. He replied, "She is my cousin."
you see...see writes and arranges very good songs.
but...she has ear for musicians to play with...that's a delight

Not sure if you're being sincere with your 'who would have guessed Ravi is her dad?' comment.....I'd guess that the average RP listener does know this....though like you said, the Wiki pages populating with the songs helps with a lot of unasked questions so yeah....Long Live RP!!
Nope. Pretty average listener, didn't know that. (I don't always read the bio or wiki)

Now here is an interesting fact that one would never have guessed if it wasn't for RP attaching a bio. Norah Jones is the daughter of sitar player Ravi Shanker, who was brought to world prominence by his association with George Harrison in the early '70s.

Norah's song is ok but this album cover gets me right back into Russ Meyer's Camp of Black Humor
I'm pretty sure that's intentional

Not the guitar, but the bass, I think.
Love is the drug - Roxy Music
But there’s room in that groove for more than one song!
"Passion Debased by Lust" : ) when films were deeper then todays fluff, eh?

That's a good film; I haven't seen it in years though.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time now I've heard a track off this album and tabbed back to RP to see who it was. I remember the cover, but am always surprised when I realize it's her and this album again. I really dig this Norah Jones.

Her strong voice makes this a cut above ordinary.
WoooHoooo!!!!!
Always thought if I had a Strat I'd be a better musician. Norah and Kurt showed me it ain't the Mustang - it's me.

What are the best tracks from this album, in your opinion? I have not had the time to check it out. Cheers!
She's okay-looking.
Oh, the track's okay, too.

Does this mean she is through her Country phase?
Came back to add that the album cover reminds me of an auburn Debbie Harry.

Sooo nice...her breathy, sultry style and Divine voice and timing put her in The Next Level of musical artists, and I'm happy to be alive to hear and enjoy it! She used to look so uncomfortable on stage, but a week or so ago on Letterman she frickin' OWNED it, and wow she sure is easy on the eyes, to boot. She's the Real Deal, and thanks, RP, for playing her new stuff; LOVE IT!
Very nice move for Norah. A great interview with her recently on NPR about the new album, and her work with Danger Mouse.
Ousado comparado ao estilo dela,

Thumbs up for the lovely Norah!Would like her on the back seat of my bikeð.
New path for Norah, including the cover art. Approve!
This somehow reminds me of True Blood. I think it's a fresh sound for Norah Jones. A 7 for now.
Good start!
