This sounds just like Sabbath's "Iron Man" done with a sitar (or something). Surely I'm not hearing it right. Thank God this song isn't stuck in my head.

You know what - This still beats Natalie Merchant!

What a hoot! Next up Disco Dvorak!
Hahaha, first time I heard it, I hated it. Damned thing is growing on me! (Still no more than a 4 though eh, don't want to get too silly)

Geeze, now I've heard it all.
OK,anyone wanna trade me a sitar for my Les Paul ?
If there is not already, there should be an automatic trigger programmed into this web site that permanently deletes a song from the archive when it goes below the mendoza line of 5.0. Come on guys, almost there!
Yeah! More Sabbath!

Not recognising the original, for me, this version doesn't suck, it doesn't blow, it doesn't stink, it doesn't - oh sod it, I quite like it.
Seriously, have you no sense of humor? This is wonderfully awful! Thanks RP!!
Time to turn RP off

I pulled this tune up on youtube and I asked my colleague if he had heard it. He hadn't, so I pulled up the original. I played that and he did not know it either. So, I showed him the youtube video and it said Ironman.
He replied, "Oh yeah, I've heard that. Its from the movie, right?."
I winced, "Yeah, the movie."

Why not? I find most all covers intrinsically interesting, even if they try to be an exact copy of the original.

I think the song works with sitar and the other instruments they're using. But I have to forget about the original to open my mind to appreciate this version. Try it!
is this is a joke?
This really blows. Blasphemy. Out of curiousity I listened to some of their other tribute songs, they are even worse. Bet Ozzy worked up a few good slurred 4 letter words over this.

Oh. My. God.
Seriously?

I'd love to hear more Bhangra on RP, but not this mélange. I don't think you can Bhangrafy HM, and anyway I've never been a fan of BS. Nice try, but no coconut.
Took me a minute... then the lightbulb of recognition went on suddenly. My initial reaction was "cool", but as it goes on I am no longer convinced. Perhaps they should have taken even more liberty (if that is possible), sections where I no longer recognized it at all, then drifting back to the familiar melody. A for effort, but only a solid 6 on the old 1-10.
It's one metric crap-ton better than hearing Ozzy and those lyrics.

Not a tribute in my mind, more like a car crash.
REALLY!?
Can you imagine this as the big dance number in a Bollywood movie. Ah, sublime.

No....
Some songs translate well to different genres, and some... uh... don't.
No, seriously? C'mon. Really? No way. It's a joke, right? I mean, it's just - it's - it's whatthehell??

Oh, and tips hat to MJdub for the upload.

Not sure I love it or hate it... it was cool at first, but I it never picked up...
Indian husband stopped in mid-cleaning tracks, looked up, and said, "What?!?!"
Black Sabbath meets Lebanese Blonde.
Can't stand this song. Blech.
I prefer covers that are significantly different than the original. I would say this qualifies in that respect. . . .and then some. Cool.
Rhythm sections rocks this song for me.
Can't stop laughing

BAD-BAD-BAD!
PLEASE Bill...play the Cardigan's cover of Iron Man sometime...
love it 8!

too funny
Surprisingly —- it works.
Groovy Baby!
Not quite the primal energy of the original, but an interesting cover nonetheless.
I like this!
Is this a joke? If so it a bad one.
Why?
My first upload to be added! I'm glad you guys get a kick out of it. To be completely honest, I'm not a huge fan of this album; I only really like 3 or 4 songs on it and it does get a bit old sometimes. However, it is definitely not bad, and is actually quite interesting, as there are a plethora of artists who have incorporated Indian styles and instruments into electronic music, but I'm not aware of anyone else who has done it covering Black Sabbath! ( + = ? ) FYI this came out in 2002.
I was browsing through some of the Electronica stuff in my library, wondering if I had anything that I should upload to RP. I thought, "You know, this is just out there enough, I think the people at RP will get a kick out of it". And what do you know, it bypassed the LRC straight onto the playlist!
This is probably the most accessible song on the album, probably because the original is so familiar, even to Sabbath-haters. I also uploaded their version of "War Pigs" which is having a go at the LRC — I don't have my fingers crossed but figured I might as well upload another song from the album.
Sadly the hard copy is long gone, and I don't know what I was thinking when I ripped this way back when but these two songs are 192k and the rest are in like 96k or something like that So that's it from me. Too bad because the cover of N.I.B. is pretty good too.
This band did another album that was a tribute to the Sex Pistols ("Never Mind the Bhangra...").

I like it. Remakes, they're ok, like the remake of "Don't Cha Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me" remake by an unknown Mariachi Band in the movie "No Strings Attached" with Kutcher and Portman. Ok, yeah, I know the Pussycat Dolls is not on this station, thank you RP for not playing crap like that, but when you heard this Mariachi Band strolling down the street and you didn't recognize the ture right away, but then it hits you, and then you say, Cool, that sounds great played by a Mariachi Band, much better than the Pussycat Dolls, not to mention the weirdness. Bring it on Jose Alfredo Jimenez.
sort of sucks
OK, heard it once. I'm good.
I couldn't believe this was a Black Sabbath song being performed with sitars. Suddenly, gravity has taken a turn for the weird and I'm sitting upside-down.
As soon as I regain my balance, I'ma belly-dance to this song.

That moment of revelation.
WHAT?
This is Iron Man!
Hah!
I like the Hellsongs folksy Sabbath cover more though! This is more like a one-off novelty play, right?

Great band name, and the bridge in the song made laugh. Interesting novelty song, but not sure of it's staying power, but what the heck, nice one, Bill!
Uh...no.

This fills all the emptiness inside me. Kinda like an Alien endoparasite. I feel squiggly.
This is great.
Ok, if it wasn't Iron Man would it be good? I'm undecided, I'm giving it a '5' until I hear it again.
Could not place the song until I came here. Interesting take.

Wow.
LOL! Awesome!
No way!
Ha!
