Wake up, son of mine
Momma got something to tell you
Changes come
Life will have its way
With your pride, son
Take it like a man

Hang on, son of mine
A storm is blowing up your horizon

Changes come
Keep your dignity
Take the high road
Take it like a man

Listen up, son of mine
Momma got something to tell you
All about growing pains
Life will pound away
Where the light don't shine, son
Take it like a man

Suck it up, son of mine
Thunder blowing up your horizon

Changes come (Changes come)
Keep your dignity (Keep your dignity)
Take the high road (Take the high road)
Take it like a man (Take it like a man)

Momma said like the rain (This, too, shall pass)
Like a kidney stone (This, too, shall pass)
It's just a broken heart, son
This pain will pass away

I disagree. As a former sailor I can do potty mouth and images IRT cover art..  Because I choose not to separates me from the dross of society.  I love The Big Lebowski movie as it points out a whole segment of society that use gutter language as the norm. Refined people can't understand it. Americans are free to succeed or fail. Language defines a people.
Anything with Maynard rocks !!!!

Thanks RP,,,, another new to me band.
This entire LP is sold. check it out!
Doesn't Sound like a V to me....
From Judy Garland to Puscifer in two steps. Ya gotta love RP.
"Like a kidney stone, this too shall pass."  Wonderful haha!

Besides, how many DJ's can go from the nearly ancient Judy Garland landmark recording of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, to this awesome track from the album "V is for Vagina" , which also produced Vagina Mine, in only 3 songs?

Agreed. Amazing song selection.  A work of art in itself.

Adolescent lyrics but terrific music, unique mood.

Tool - Forty Six & Two Lyrics:

My shadow's shedding skin
I've been picking scabs again
I'm down, digging through
My old muscles, looking for a clue

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in
I wanna feel the changes coming down
I wanna know what I've been hiding

In my shadow
My shadow
Change is coming through
My shadow
My shadow
Shedding skin
I've been picking
My scabs again

i am a fan of tool/perfect circle    this does not compare

Pussy fur. . . pussy fur. . . pussy fur. Yes, that's it. Searching for a more suitable image that might be allowed here. . . I'll be right back. . .

I reckon Maynard James Keenan will be talked about in the future far more than he is today.

In fifty years no one will ever say the words Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus or [insert name of 99+% current musical "talents"], but this dude will be discussed...

Let's debate!
The only mention I know of in rock music,  of a kidney stone.
I watched a video on YouTube about Maynard James Keenan and his new venture into wine-making in Jerome, Arizona.

A very interesting man in many ways.

I just went 6→8 on this track.  Not sure if the band name/album name combo and lyrical content helped w/ the +2 or not....although I'm diggin' the grove on this one, the cool deep vocals and incessant bass line.  Long Live RP!!

10.  Been at 10 for a while.

I take it the rest of the album is worthwhile?

Not that I think it'll be played here, but their piece call "the Mission" is I think one of their best, and their lyrics typically are far more in depth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qja7b6j9oUU

It's Milla Jovovich who is their female back up but gets the lead in this one. (♥♥♥♥ this one!!gets under the skin!)
I LOVE PUSCI!

jberko,  I think I do now, probably not when you made that comment.  Makes me think of Ween.

In any event, I want to buy the CD.

This guy has a really creepy voice, and the lyrics are pretty sleazy and sinister. Which is fine by me. 8 from the creeped-out Nottingham jury.
Love the bass-mix. Nice and round.

Arguably, "retarded sexuality and bad poetry" are the foundations of most rock and roll.  Maynard James Keenan, whom you apparently know nothing about, has been recording and performing "inventive" music for over twenty years.  However, the nautical metaphor was quite enjoyable.
Can't decide if I like it or not.  Kind of feels to me like the vocals and musical style come from 2 different songs.
love it - thanks, Bill!

Can't go wrong with Tool, APC or Puscifer. Actually anything that Keenan turns his hand too.
This sounds wicked through my new Sennheisers. Warm warm bass mmmmm
i recommended this years ago.. shot down instantly. Nice to see things have changed. Their last concert was amazing. And the new album.. about 5 listens in it is hypnotic. It's not pop music.

Totally diggin' it!  Bring on more from the album!
So it's not coincidence that the band name gives me a little chill down my spine?

It will sell a few records and that's all they care about.  Junk bond.  I gave it a six only because RP made the effort to choose the best they could from the band.{#Exclaim}

Compelling. Grabs me and forces me to stop doing and listen.

Already rated 9.  Should rate this a 10 for stop-dead-in-the-tracks power.

Wow, where else but on RP would you hear this? Keep rocking Bill!
That is one seriously sinister voice. Love it :o). 8 from the spooked Nottingham jury.
I just discovered this artist.  Pucifer's cover for Elton John's Rocketman is worth the listen...

Backing vocals?  check the common denominator of : rage against the machine, audioslave and pucsifer. thats your man.

I dont like the maynards solo project

Sounds like Pinback, which is fine.

I'm liking the stuff off this CD so far - will have to get a copy...{#Music}
So this is Maynard's other side...I like!
I love this track.  It is capable of giving your hi fi speakers a real work bottom end out.  The vocals and low tuned guitar riff meld perfectly together.

Pretty nice despite itself.  That name's trying really damn hard to irritate me, but that sweet guitar won't let it.
Excellent — an instant purchase!  :-)

Just sort of heard it in the background and was grooving to it but not paying much attention.  Then I heard Maynard's name and my ears perked up.  Neat sound for him...looking forward to giving it another listen.

Puscifer (pronounced /ˈpʊsÉšfər/<1>)
Puscifer = Poo-sih-fur

Another good one from Maynard. Yay!
Wonderful LMAO!!!!!!!!
Ridiculous name! Puscifer! Smiling...!

Very glad to hear this! For all you oenophiles, check out Maynard's wine labels: Caduceus Cellars and Arizona Stronghold. He also has a new documentary on winemaking: 'Blood Into Wine.'

I like this one a lot better than the other song of theirs they've been playing a lot. Not bad...
