Did they tell you you should grow up
When you wanted to dream
Did they warn you, better shape up
If you want to succeed
I don't know about you
Who are they talking to
They're not talking to me

I'm higher than high
Lower than deep
I'm doing it wrong
Singing along

I'm higher than high
Lower than deep
I'm doing it wrong
Singing along

Did I ask you for attention
When affection is what I need
Thinking sorrow was perfection
I will wallow til you told me
There's no glitter in the gutter
There's no twilight galaxy

Go higher than high
Go lower than deep
Keep doing it wrong
Keep singing along

Go higher than high
Go lower than deep
Keep doing it wrong
Keep singing along

I'm alright, come on baby
I've seen all of the demons that you've got
If you're not alright, now come on baby
I'll pick you up and take you where you want
Anywhere you want
Anywhere you want
Anywhere you want
Anything you want

I'm higher than high
Lower than deep
I'm doing it wrong
Singing along

Go higher than high
Go lower than deep
Keep doing it wrong
Keep singing along

Go higher than high
Go lower than deep
Keep doing it wrong
Keep singing along

I'm higher than high

Huh..... I was just thinking the same thing!

Roger that.

What the? Help, we are surrounded by jagdrivers! {#Sorry} {#Curtain}

Like it Metric! Good album — load it to an mp3 player, very like.
Sounds vaguely like "Feist".

Some of this pop stuff my 11 year old would like but it doesn't have much "punch" to it ........... not unpleasant tho'

Metric is my favourite popband at the moment.

Yeah, I remember the first time I used GarageBand.....
Between the heart-mimicing beat and her sweet, intimate voice, I think this would make a great lullaby.  Beautiful.
The Fantasies album is great....I've listened to it on repeat several times.
This one kind of reminds me of Betty Davis Eyes.
are you kidding me? this gets a 6 upwards? lord have mercy.

I agree 100%. However I ran across a kickass spinoff of this band, Bang Lime. Their Wikipedia page describes their sound as a "vast stylistic discrepancy from Metric." Which is a very good thing. In short Bang Lime actually has a backbone.

I find her voice captivating and the synth sounds just right too!
Emily

My twilight fantasy.
Thanx, i'll dive into this band.
Bill - please play "gimme sympathy"
I'm not a huge fan of this song but here's an interesting "unplugged" version:

...ohmigosh, you nailed it...
Please help me forget

Should also add... there is no band on earth that is nicer and more appreciative of their fans. When the 'Fantasies' vinyl was delayed due to a closure at the record fabrication plant, they notified the hell out of everyone. And when it came, one or two months late, every single member of the band had signed it, with an apology.
Saw this live, the acoustic version on their "plug in" tour in Phoenix AZ.

I never thought they could pull it off, but hearing this with just a piano and guitar made me realize how exceptionally well Metric crafts their songs.

I agree.  And yet... I still quite enjoy it.

love that synth sound, nice song too
This entire record is fantastic. I still can't believe it didn't win the 2009 Polaris Prize.

the whole body of work from this band is excellent. they are amazing live too!

This is badass!  Never enough (decent) electronica.
Kip Dynamite called. He wants his drum loop back.
I do like Emily's voice and the shimmery keyboard sound on this tune. Great live band, see them if they come to your town.

This is my 2nd Metric song (comcast alternative station is playing a different one). I like her! May have to get the album.
