Give me
Your dirty love
Like you might surrender
To some dragon in your dreams
Give me
Your dirty love
Like a pink donation
To the dragon in your dreams
I don't need your sweet devotion
An' I don't want your cheap emotion
Whip me up some dragon lotion
For your dirty love
Your dirty love
Give me
Your dirty love
Like some tacky little pamphlet
In your daddy's bottom drawer
Give me
Your dirty love
I don't believe you never seen
His book before
I don't need no consolation
I don't want your reservation
I only got one destination
An' that's your dirty love
Your dirty love
Give me
Your dirty love
Just like your mama
Make her fuzzy poodle do
(Oh, Frenchie . . . )
Give me
Your dirty love
The way your mama
Make that nasty poodle chew
I'll ignore your cheap aroma
And your little-bo-peep diploma
I'll just put you in a coma
With some dirty love
Some dirty love
That dirty love
That dirty love
THE POODLE BITES!
(Come on, Frenchie)
THE POODLE CHEWS IT!
(Snap it!)
THE POODLE BITES!
(Come on, Frenchie)
THE POODLE CHEWS IT!

THE POODLE CHEWS IT!
(Not a speck of cereal!)
THE POODLE BITES!

THE POODLE CHEWS IT!
(Nothing but the best for my dog!)
THE POODLE BITES!
(Come on, Frenchie)
THE POODLE CHEWS IT!
(Come on!)
THE POODLE BITES!

Wow...for an artist with a catalog as vast as Zappa's (well over 70 albums), this site only has 8 songs on their list?
And this one was last played 7 months ago?
What a shame.

you are missing the point of art. it is no always timeless (however in fz's defense his music will be enjoyed for a long, long time) but part of an era. When you say that his music posed as intllectual rebellion, I would have to take a guess and say that you probably weren't even born at the time, because at the time it was intellectual rebellion. Music and artistry must be looked at through the lens of history. Frank Zappa stood for intellectual rebellion in a time when it was sorely needed. And I have to say as a musician, weird al couldn't sit in the same zip code. w3weasel wrote:

I just don't freaking get it.
In my mind, Zappa occupies a space on the shelf next to Weird Al. It's kinda funny, kinda cleaver, but mostly nonsensical. Add to that the VERY dated 70's Heavy rock sound (italicized for irony) that lacks any real spark of genius.
I'm not saying I hate Zappa, I just don't understand why legions are prepared to lift him on high with the many greats that occupied his time period.
At his very best, he is a side-show attraction... certainly entertaining, but I still feel embarrassed for spending my time on it, because ultimately it's low-brow junk posing as intellectual rebellion.

Have you ever seen them do Whipping Post by the Allman Bros.? Kicked ass!!!!
For my money, their best Whippin Post was from the Humour in Music video —- it had a reggae breakdown in the middle of it. Incredible.

LOL!
Perfect for yet another wet, grey west coast morning.
Definately one of Zappa's best for sure. The artwork on the original LP cover is really off the wall also...On the CD they removed the border that has all the offending stuff..
Truly amazing music lyrics way before its time.
Ahhh - if there is one person in the music universe I miss, it's FZ.
They don't make them like this anymore!
Ill ignore your cheap aroma
And your little-bo-peep diploma
Ill just put you in a coma

Sorry...I just can't stand it. I turned it off, went into my son's room and scratched his blackboard for a bit to get over this.

We had this album when I was a kid, and the cover alone creeped me out. I remember thinking I would get sick if I touched it.

FZ: an acquired taste...had one of his albums (memory fails me) back in the day and one side was a continuum of startling noise...a rather thought-provoking vibe.

Blast from the past!! His body of work was astounding, and even though about 1/3 i didn't care for, he had something many musicians never achieve - a sound all his own-although it was hard to pin down, so varied, he is definitely a legend in rock/fusion/jazz/zap!!!
Would have been a nice segue to go into Dirty Boulevard by Lou Reed?

the combination of humor & good music is as rare as flowers in the dessert
backing vocals: 'the pudel bites' ; who else but Zappa would let them sing such nonsense ;-)))

This would be fine on the weekend, but geeze my boss walked up to my desk when this was playing and I had to hit the mute and fast!
I rather like Zappa in short and infrequent doses. He's different. :)
