I started down the mountain several years ago
Seems I couldn't move much faster fallin' down this path ya know
I've was searchin' for some answers
and I didn't want to climb
so I started down the mountain but no answers did I find
I couldn't say
I do not know
Could you point which way to go
I am lost, I'm a victim, I'm a sinner in my soul
I'm a poor wayfarin' stranger
I have nothin' left to lose
I have fallen down the mountain
Wretched righteous, flesh for fools
Sadness flows like water down the lonely mountain side
Who would walk beside a sinner who has bubbles in his pride
People say they do not know, when I know they've done the same
Who would take the repercussions when the bottle is to blame
I couldn't say, I do not know
Could you point which way to go
I am lost, I'm a victim, I'm a sinner in my soul
I'm a poor wayfarin' stranger
I have nothin' left to lose
I have fallen down the mountain
Wretched righteous, flesh for fools
I'm winding down a river, I will ride this silver road
Down the path of least resistance
Chasing whipporwills and beau
I don't miss the time I lingered
in the clouds up in the sky
But I'll never climb the mountain for those days have passed me by
I couldn't say, I do not know
Could you point which way to go
I am lost, I'm a victim, I'm a sinner in my soul
I'm a poor wayfarin' stranger
I have nothin' left to lose

I'm unsure if I've heard this before on RP. I think this is a first. And I like it. A lot. Sweet. It's bringing tears to the eyes. Love the whole texture of the track.
"Man Over" is in the vault, how 'bout dusting that one off Bill?
Dark Beautiful
Hmmmm.....I suppose the lyrics reflect the viewpoint of an angel fallen down and livin' amongst us mere mortals? Or maybe better to say a soul birthed from the firmament? All I can say is..."Hey...we're all just a bit lost down here ain't we? So grab a hold of those you love and hang on as best you can. Life, it's a crazy ride that much is certain."

Shades of Dolly in this.
Glad to hear a fresh tune from her.
Must investigate more - like an Australian Ani diFranco with less vigour...

i have a real personal connection to this song. about two years ago i was in a record store/book store.
looking thru the diffrent items available to listen to. i came across this and it really hit me hard.
being that had just got released from a detox center, man i was really going thru it at that time.
i was lonely wand walking the streets and this music was some comfort for me.
man i was standing in the middle of the record store crying my eyes out.
anyway, it was real good for me. than you robinella.
i dont think she sounds like dolly parton

This is an incredibly beautiful experience although probably in a very tough and difficult moment of your life. I express myself quite badly in English and it sounds naive and gross, but I do understand how important it must be in such dark corners to find an echo in somebody else's story. The lyrics of this song will definitely have a different meaning for me now.
I very much hope you are in a better place these days.

Norah Jones Style but not the voice of her not at all!!
Kind of Ani DiFranco lite. But still, I like it. Talented gal.
Whoever she is, I like her.
A definite Dolly Parton soundalike, but luckily not a tenth as cheesy, so just about listenable, which is saying a lot seeing as I loathe C&W with a vengeance.

Robinella is a bit of a local phenomena here in Knoxville (I think she plays weekly at Barley's). Nice to hear her get some wider exposure at RP!
Indistinguishable from the seemingly dozens of cutesy girlie girls that are flooding the airwaves lately.
I'm not sure what the real lyrics are, but every time I hear this song it sounds like she says "kitty porn".

What great lyrics! very catchy tune.
She sounds like Dolly Parton meets Edie Brickell. Nice sound.

Yep.
Woo-hoo! This song was on my "to be uploaded" list for a while now... never seemed to get around to it. Thanks to whoever uploaded (or to Bill if he found this on his own).
I also think it's sad she ditched the CC string band. Saw them play many good shows together. Times apparently get tough when you tour A LOT with your husband (best friend?) and brother in law, I guess. Anyhow, that whole situation is a shame. She sounds good solo, tho— wish her the best.

Tasty number.

Ah, I finally found out why the chorus seemed familiar:
"I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint, I do not feel ashamed"
Not quite the same, but similar enough to make bang my head every time I heard this song and couldn't remember what it reminded me of. All that head-banging makes me forgetful, so I'm archiving this here for next time .
Nice song.
Wow came back from break, pop'd on my headphones and thought it was a new Dolly song. =)
nice. ..
!!Hello!!.......** 7 **
...i hear a touch of joanna newsom...
Cute song. A 7 on first listen. I need to look her up and see what her story is.
Okay, I looked her up. I think I like this even more now. There seems to be much there.

Aww—did she ditch the C.C. String Band?
Ahh—it looks like she ditched C.C.
