There's nothing else I'm needing now
The wind is at my side
And so are you
And together we will rise
Above all these word and promises we couldn't keep
Together we will fly above it all
But sometimes we will fall
From the light
But it shines on us tonight
And together we will rise
And together we will rise
And surely it's a sign now,
That everything's in tune to some kind of higher plan
Surely it's a sign
That you were right
And there's the secret line
That we've been denied
But we're crossing it tonight
And together we will rise
And together we will rise
Sometimes we will fall
From the light
But it shines on us tonight
And together we will rise
Pass this line
That we're crossing here tonight
But together we will rise
And together we will rise
We will rise, we will rise
I'm good with that...
Completely reminds me of young Buckley ... in some regards anyway.
Google Hansard (Swell Season) playing "Buzzin' Fly". It's great.

I get it. It's plaintive.
gotta love that skip button
I was at both of those shows too! A lifelong friend had told me how great Glen was live and I got to see it for myself in those two beautiful venues. I later got to meet and talk with Glen at an exotic erotic Broadway audience participation dinner/party in New York. He was a very cool guy who was humble about his success as a musician, and as an actor in the wonderful film "Once".
I don't know you, but I am filled with jealousy. Especially because I missed a show when he was touring with Eddie Vedder and his uke. Eddie's uke. I don't know what Glen had. Because I wasn't at the show. Now I'm sad again.
Caught Glen and the Frames live two days in a row in October in San Francisco. On Saturday night they played a killer show at The Fillmore, playing until almost 1:00AM in that legendary venue. His passion and commitment to the music come through in every song. The next afternoon he played a great set at The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, one of the great (and free!) music festivals in the world each year, outdoors in Golden Gate Park. At both shows Levon Helm's horn section were a nice complement to The Frames music.

Loving your Dublin-centric set this morning Bill!
or a bid of old Radiohead
Não há mais nada eu preciso agora
O vento está ao meu lado
E você também
E juntos vamos subir
Acima de todas essas palavras
E promessas que não poderíamos manter
Juntos vamos voar acima de tudo
Mas às vezes vamos cair
Da luz
Mas ela brilha sobre nós essa noite
E juntos vamos subir
E certamente é um sinal agora
Que tudo está em sintonia com algum tipo de plano superior
Certamente é um sinal
De que você estava certa
E há a linha de segredo
Que temos negado
Mas estamos atravessando esta noite
E juntos vamos subir
Às vezes a gente vai cair
Da luz
Mas ela brilha sobre nós essa noite
E juntos vamos subir
Passe esta linha
Que estamos atravessando aqui esta noite
E juntos vamos subir
second that... I instantly knew I heard that voice before....
This one, definitely a 9!
Absolutely, my friend. Superb material for my 'flu-ridden ears today. 9 from me, too.
Meh.
My ears have been forever opened... I cannot turn back now. Thanks Bill!
First time hearing for me. Love Glen Hansard's passionate voice.

The lead vocalist and chief songwriter for the Frames for many years, the fabulous perfomer in the film Once, who continued the partnership established in that film in the Swell Season, who is just a great great vocalist- and judging by his off and on-stage behaviour at Pearl Jam's 20th Anniversary festival, one hell of a nice guy.
Love Glen Hansard.
Me too, love him. If you get a chance to see the Frames live, jump on it. Best live band ever.
Isn't this the vocalist from Swell Season? .... are my ears decieving me?

Absolutely. This CD stayed in my player the entire first week. I still love it.

I thought the same thing. Caught my attention.
This one, definitely a 9!
But they are sincere promises.
growing on me
Promises
But they are sincere promises.
What?....no foreplay?
Promises
The needle on my passion meter is buried in the red zone.
I don't think he has anything more ,,
then a good set of lungs !
What?....no foreplay?
I also thought Buckley but for me that's high praise rather than a slagging off. Oh and Hanio Ben Harpers latest album has some great songs with him rocking out.
Well he's screaming loudly if that's what you mean. Once again a bloke making an awful lot of fuss over the prospect of a shag. Just get on with it, guy - less talk, more action.
two words: f***** great
So thematically the album is a bit sad. I still think there is an underlying theme of hope, especially in this song.

I was just thinking the same thing.
They invented Google for a reason, you know...
I completely agree.
Er, that is probably because Glen is the lead singer for the Frames....
I wouldn't necessarily call their work, "enjoyable", but I like it for some reason. As for Hansard, he's got an album in him that should be called "Songs for the Needy."
Sounds like Tom Baxter ripped off this song for his song Skybound.
I completely agree.
definitely an interesting song...however a little reminicent of Jeff Buckley.
Fun fact: Mr Buckley was a roadie for the Frames for a short time.
