Someone to hold me tight
That would be very nice
Someone to love me right
That would be very nice
Someone to understand
Each little dream in me
Someone to take my hand
And be a team with me

So nice, life would be so nice
If one day I'd find
Someone who would take my hand
And samba through life with me

Someone to cling to me
Stay with me right or wrong
Someone to sing to me
Some little samba song
Someone to take my heart
And give his heart to me
Someone who's ready to
Give love a start with me

Oh yeah, that would be so nice
I could see you and me, that would be nice

No me gusta escucharla en ingles ...sorry  angloparlantes desde este minoritario rincón
Makes me want to drink a Mojito(s).
First time hearing this, near's I can recall.

Love it!
Brazil singing!!!
takes me back to Hawaii : )

I love this music. Takes me back to when life was so much more laid back.

I believe this is on my Ultra Chilled 02 double disc compilation which, of all the Ultra Chilled series, is quite excellent

So summery!
why give us the muzaky dumbed down version of this?
why not give us the original Brazilian version?

Is she Astrid's daughter?
Hadn't heard her before - this is quite pleasant, though not outstanding IMO. There are some nice samples on her website for those who'd like to hear more - "Momento" would be my pick from those I listened to, anyone care to try uploading it?
All this song reminds me of is some really violent ending to a movie where this played over all the violence. I wish I could remember what it was. Or maybe I don't!
wow, you can really tell exactly which days bill has played this song based on the comments here.
lovely!

I can't help but think of Homer Simpson singing this melody - "do do do, do do do, do do do doooo do do". I don't remember the context at all, but I sure remember it.
shag carpet, slippers with heeels, and a martini...ahhhhhhhh
I feel a cocktail coming on
The sexiest music...
Make me want to be at an outside cafe in Paris!
Yo baby, pour me a Caipirinha, will ya?
Some songs, no matter how old, overplayed or cheesy, are just impossible to not tap your toe to...
Ladies: special in aisle five on wrangler jeans. get two pairs for the holidays.

Ahhhh.....Summer....... (If only it weren't 100 degrees and 99% humidity outside.)
It's a lovely day today, for once, here in New England. 72 degrees and low humidity.
Ahh Brasil!!!
I totally dig stuff like this . . . Lounge-y, yet soooooo smooth.
Ahhhh.....Summer....... (If only it weren't 100 degrees and 99% humidity outside.)
The Gilberto ladies\' voices could make a phone book sound hot. Dig that smooth Bossa groove! c.

Very Nice!
nothing like a little brasilian music to get the juices flowing.
check out some of bebel's more modern takes on bossa nova sound like "baby" very cool.
I've raised the grade from 2 to 5. Which doesn't mean that it's any good by no means
Assim certamente! Eu gosto desta canção muito muito!
Why does a Brazilian song have to have 'samba' or a beach name in the title to be accepted on RP? There's plenty of good Brazilian music that never reaches the world's ears because it doesn't meet the stereotypical bossa nova or samba sound. Check out Zeca Baleiro, Cássia Eller or Los Hermanos. By the way, loved the comment from 'dewinter'. I am a lucky bastard, I know.
Yeah, that kind of hair.

I am willing to bet money that is not her on that album cover. I've seen other pictures of her and she has that earthy smelling, dank, curly, slightly oily hair that Carribean women of Hispanic origin have. The chic on the cover has straight, fine, limp hair- the kind that smells like fruity chemicals .

"Girl from Ipanema" -- Astrud Gilberto, aka Mom. Bebel sounds a lot like her mother, and that's not a bad thing.
Scroll down and you'll see she's the daughter of Joao's second wife. First was Astrud.

At the risk of going against the RP tide, I gotta say that this just doesn't do it for me. Sounds very shopping mall/elevator music. Now I know that I can hear U2 in the same venues, but certainly not Boy or Where the Streets have no name. I also don't trust the integrity of an artist that poses topless for her photo shoots. What really is being pitched here? Solid 1. Horstman

Oh, yeah! This followed by Jobim would be great! Martini, anyone!

I have a soft spot for songs that make me feel like dancing and wiggling around the room while drinking a martini. This is one of those songs... when does happy hour start?
It's always happy hour on RP - although, I'd have to head straight to the liquor section if I heard this being played in my local supermarket!
Tall, yummy, dusky women. (I guess it's the song making me think that)

I love this music! I've been listening to a lot of Sergio Mendez and Herb Alpert lately. My parents music. Ha!

I kept thinking and thinking why do i know this song? Then it hit me, Fatboy Slim does a remix of it that is pretty good, and nothing like this both are pretty good.
I can close my eyes and pretend it's warm here

The whole album is just sooooo boring.... music for siesta and digestion, nothing more
Wow, music to digest by. What if AC/DC or Guns & Roses is playing when you've finished eating - do you get incredible gastric distress??
Nice, but fluff compared to Jobim. Where's da Jobim??
perfect song.... during the happy hour, at the beach.... with my love... ">
