The night we met I knew I needed you so
And if I had the chance I'd never let you go
So won't you say you love me
I'll make you so proud of me
We'll make 'em turn their heads every place we go

So won't you, please
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my little baby
''(My one and only baby)'' Say you'll be my darlin'
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my baby now
Wha-oh-oh-oh

I'll make you happy, baby, just wait and see
For every kiss you give me, I'll give you three
Oh, since the day I saw you
I have been waiting for you
You know I will adore you 'til eternity

So won't you, please
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my little baby
''(My one and only baby)'' Say you'll be my darlin'
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my baby now
Wha-oh-oh-oh-oh

So come on and please
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my little baby
''(My one and only baby)'' Say you'll be my darlin'
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my baby now
Wha-oh-oh-oh

''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my little baby
''(My one and only baby)'' Oh
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Oh
Wha-oh-oh-oh-oh

''(Be my, be my baby)'' Oh
''(My one and only baby)'' Oh
''(Be my, be my baby)'' Be my baby now
Wha-oh-oh-oh

I was 8yrs old in 1963.  This was the 2nd 45 that I bought.  The 1st was " M Boyfriend is Back" by The Angels. I started to get an allowance of one 45 per week, if I behaved myself!   It caused me to be  a very good boy!

Next thing, you'll tell me Jimi Hendrix opened for the Monkees.

Hendrix DID open for the Monkees!!
print it on a gold record and send it to space
This from Wiki; I think tells you everything you need to know:

"Brian Wilson first heard "Be My Baby" while driving and listening to the radio; he became so enthralled by the song that he felt compelled to pull over to the side of the road and analyze the chorus. Wilson immediately concluded that it was the greatest record he had ever heard. He bought the single and kept it on his living room jukebox, listening to it whenever the mood struck him. Copies of the song were located everywhere inside his home, as well as inside his car and in the studio."

And you'll never hear surf music again.

If you're the right age, when you hear this song you also hear "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" as the counterpoint.
Just like Ronnie said....
Such a fun song, and such a tragic history for Ronnie.  Phil Spector would not release their recordings after a few hits and, after marrying Ronnie, kept her a prisoner in his mansion.  I love that, on their first European tour, this new band called "The Rolling Stones" opened for them!

Well, that was unexpected!
From the mind of a sociopath.  Genius and madness bonded to create Phil Spector.
Ms. Marvel reference? Timing seems appropos..
