In 1976, the Republican National Convention was in Kansas City. This song was sung by all — Democrats and Republicans alike.
Wow. I always pictured some white(caucasian) hayseed singing this song.
Why, this song is making me want to go to kansas city. not really, but the song is good. 
Ok, like back when I was a kid I knew this guy that had a bigassed convertible buick and we glued/roped a pair of steer horns to the hood of the buckmaster and cruised to the beach smoking cigars and drinking beer and playing this song over and over.
Memories, eh!

I was watching Jim Lampley one time on a satellite feed. He was in a commercial break but the feed was still rolling for those of us with a C-Band satellite. He hawked up a big loogey and spit on the floor. It was great.

This was one of my favorite songs that played at the roller rink when I was a kid. I loved this song because it was really good to two-step to.

Interesting to hear you play this one, the original version is the best I think...I use to listen to this on the juke box in my parents bar when I was but a wee lass. Now I am one of those crazy little women!
