No, it's NOT! Far from it. But search engines in general are useful.

Saw this guy back in the 80s playing live on a barge in the middle the River Thames. Genius, only he could have thought of that!!

Humans at the other side of the computers are our friends. So, what about asking the world wide community?
Reminds me of very high quality time I spent touring Morocco by motorcycle.  Was like being on another planet.  Loved every minute.
Ms. Atlas makes this track a 6.  But otherwise it would be more like a 4 for me.

That isn't cultural appropriation.  Anyway, it was my light-hearted comment on  a trully awful piece by someone I still very much admire.
I gave 6 because of Natasha Atlas. Otherwise....since Oxygen, I have an impression, that JMJ is only repeating himself.  Once I recorded all his albums on cassetes for friend and proof listened to them. Afterwards, I have given out all my JMJ records and recordings and never ever listened to his music willingky again.
Big fan of JMJ, beautiful! That man just creates, like at the beginning of his career! And his looks... like a man in his late 40s. Truly unique musician.
Jean Michel Jarre and Richard Hamnmond of Top Gear Fame...

Brothers?  Separated at birth?

Unique and truly bizarre. I absolutely love it.
Not my first choice for a Natacha Atlas song, there's much better ones.
Do like a bit of JMJ. Remember seeing him performing in London in the 80's on a floating stage on the river Thames, awesome light show with lasers etc and his musical gloves. Very memorable!
Mostly a fan of JMJ - but not this track for sure. Would be good to hear other stuff from him on RP.

And add in some Afro-Celts

Does anyone else hear Dead Can Dance in this?

Yes. exactly. I love JMJ but in that case he has done somme DCD absolutely.

Big up to Natacha Atlas : "Mon amie la rose"

Great album of one of the world's most popular artist...
Should've gone straight from The Charlatans to JMJ. thematically speaking.

If David Copperfield did music.
without Natasha this would be as boring as majority of J-MJ production.. But no objection against more of his tracks

gotta agree with that.
One of the handful of songs I can truly say does not belong on this fine station.

nice, if you have more of natacha atlas, i would love to hear it!
Natacha, I'm falling in love with you. I have another interesting song featuring her vocals I may upload here.

Alright...does she say Christmas ...and then Santa Claus, at the beginning , or WHAT? (chortle)

Is J-M J the guy from Engima or am I thinking of somebody else? I know Natacha Atlas used to be the female vocalist for Transglobal Undergroud. I'd like to hear some of their stuff here, maybe off of International Times.

It sounded just like Enigma to me. Not very original.
That song gave me a serious headache.

Love the Arabic sound on the vocals...some previous posters called it "turkish" sounding, and yes, there are some french phrases thrown in.
Natacha Atlas is, I believe, Tunisian.

C'est la vie. C'est la guerre. C'est le pomme de terre!

Does anybody remembers the suite "Oxygen"? Jeam-Michel Jarre, Late seventies
Certainly do. This seems like an evolution of his roots, but nevertheless true JMJ music. Anyone else thinks he's brilliant?

Is there more Jean-Michel Jarre? I would care for more! But also Tangerine Dream etc.
Unfortunately, there are only 2 songs by JMJ listed at RP. Anybody want to upload more?

That's "Oxygene" and I absolutely remember it! I also enjoyed "Zoolook" from that era.
Just love the oriental sound of this.
Hmmm, quite surprised to see JMJ here. I don't like the voice and the turkish sound. For me, please the regular Jean!

How cool! I helped organize a concert where NA played in our village with her husband - amazing musicians!
Great segue from Black Magic Woman!!!
I have been a Jarre fan since the mid-70's. To some extent, his stuff begins to all sound the same. HOWEVER, the vocal on this song really sets it apart from the rest. Way to go, RP!
So nice to hear this again! :) Nice segue from Santana - Black Magic Woman-Gypsy Queen.

To quote When Harry Met Sally: "I'll have what she's having." :goodvibes.gif: Really good stuff. Nice mix today, Bill.
