Does anyone else see the resemblence between this album cover and that of Midnight Oil's Diesel and Dust?
Anyway, very nice song, although too short for me. I would like to listen to this style a bit longer! Thank you for playing this, Bill.

Where? I don't mind at all that this sort of music often seems derivative. I still enjoy it enormously.
Sorta took the cover concept from Midnight Oil - no? ;)
Yes it is...I thought Nayet Tayeb for a moment. westslope wrote:

Arabic Knights on Mescaline, suckaz!!!
Beautiful, and very compelling. Love this!
This kid has pipes!!! I love the mood of this song - the way it sets the stage, delivers, and then stops, leaving one wanting more...
Chasing it with "Desert Rose" by Sting would not have been my choice, but it fits - quirky vocals and that driving rhythm...
I must just be in a RP groove tonight...

Wow! An 8 from the opening bars, then the singing kicks in and it's a 9. Truly 'surround sound' that makes the hair on my arms rise. Mind you, I live 'Middle Eastern' -style voices like hers. Very reminiscent of Azam Ali.
What a great set:
Conjure One - Damascus
Bird York - In The Deep
Delerium - Terra Firma
I see Rhys Fulber (Conjure One) is a Vancouver, BC native. Very cool sounds....

Just awful...sorry. Gets a solid ONE from me.
You're right, what was I thinking. I think my daughter's screaming was still echoing in my ears and it made this song sound better than it is.

Pretty tough going straight from a crying baby to this. It gets a 2.

Well, at least your wife (or girlfriend) never has to worry about getting punched. Jackass.
haunting
Tumbody has a tummy ache.
Heard 'Center of the sun' first here on RP and bought the CD. Outstanding album. Damascus isn't indicative of the true flavor of this whole album but I don't hear it as three minutes of moaning.

Was there a point to moaning and/or ululating into the microphone for 3 minutes?

I loved this song. I've added Conjure One to my list of artists / groups to check out. (After I discovered Radio Paradise, I had to add a new category to my Palm memo database just for this.)
Of all the tracks from a fabulous CD this is not the one for the radio......
Was there a point to moaning and/or ululating into the microphone for 3 minutes?
To me, this is dreck.

I think you need to hear it before Center of the Sun which is the next track on the album. :)
This tune and "Center of the Sun" are the two best cuts from this excellent album. A 10!

This is the second tune I've heard from Conjure One. It's short, but compelling enough to take my lunch hour at Best Buy.
Have fun trying to find something to eat there, all I can ever find are overpriced Cd's, no munchies
You knw what they say: if you can't decide on a note, just hit them all. One of them will sound good.
Just kidding... I liked this a lot!
THAT was NICE!
This is a powerful song.
