Waking up on a Sunday
I've been riding for a night or two
Looking out of the window
I'm so tired another drink will do
I'm just living a story
Like I heard it on a 45
There's no one here to rely on
It's the sign that makes me wonder why

Well I can't get up no more
Though I tried standing in a forest of reasons
Well I can't get up no more
Though I tried standing in a forest of reasons

Driving into the sun light
I've been thinking about a better life
There nothing left to delight in
It's a sign we ain't got it right
Fading out on the highway
California coming into sight
There's no one here to rely on
It's the sign that makes me wonder why

Well I can't get up no more
Though I tried standing in a forest of reasons
Well I can't get up no more
Though I tried standing in a forest of reasons

Like a moth to a candle
Driven to the naked flame
Murder on the news and blood on the streets again

Well I can't get up no more
Though I tried standing in a forest of reasons
Well I can't get up no more
Though I tried standing in a forest of reasons
Standing in a forest of reasons
Standing in a forest of reasons
Standing in a forest of reasons
Standing in a forest of reasons

Standing in a forest of reasons
Standing in a forest of reasons
Standing in a forest of reasons

Are you thinking of Super-tramp?
This is Super-grass!
They're both Brit bands, but about 25 years apart.
So maybe it would be a Bakewell tart, a cuppa tea and a bacon sarnie mashed up in the back seat of a 70's  Cortina (or Noughties Cosworth)?

you have to be on supergrass to confuse Supertramp with ... this
For my ears, these guys never get past 'meh'...

What I heard was... Standing in a pile of Doritos... That didn't make sense either!

Here's hoping they "mashed" it all together in the comfy back seat of a '74 Newport.

Man, I was too young to really enjoy the 70's...must have been a great time to have been in high school & college...sigh

You know, I knew the 70's when they were unspeakably lame as opposed to funny and campy. The cover art is a dead giveaway of what the band was thinking. Look, if creativity is knowing what to steal these guys made off the with a McDonalds Cherry pie, a Shamrock Shake and a McRib and then mashed them together in the backseat of a 74 Chrysler.

Awesome!
When I hear the first line of the chorus, the written lyrics seem to be missing the word "it" after the word "get".

This one always makes me find a spark, crank the vol, and get myself right up to Standard Orbit And Then Some. True musical gold!
Not a big fan of Brit Pop, but this song is really good. A solid 8.

An amazing song from an amazing band.  I miss Supergrass but Gaz's new stuff is great.
This has to be one of Bill G. favorite bands, eh Mr. Goldsmith!

More than a little… every time I hear this song start I get a pang to hear "Riding the Storm Out" instead..

Fortunately, I don't remember that song, but this song sounds like of a lot of different 1970s artists to me.

I live in Holland, and can buy it just down the road, and smoke on the street, but I don't care for it anymore. Love this song though!! 7.

i live in texas where we make our money incarcerating the criminals and taxing the carcinogens

Whenever I see the band name I get excited thinking it will be bluegrass.  Then I am always horribly disappointed.  This band is horribly disappointing.
"Standing in a forest of rhizomes"
All that background engineering is annoying. Complete lack of restraint. Boing boing boing sounds going from one side of the aural landscape to the other — cool! Not!

They totally stole the opening notes from Vandenberg's "Burning Heart"
Great song, even with the very Partridge Family-like chorus.

These guys are (or were) big in Europe but they still haven't got their due in North America...well it could still happen.

if they made versions "covers" would be more still acceptable -

** 4 / 5 **

Like a redwine, needing some years to get GOOD

Can't get up...due to super grass!
Anyone hear their new one? Just came out, and I am waiting to be able to fit it into my new lean budget.

Exactly. At first I thought it was a cover... Click: Vandenberg
the delay on the word 'get' makes it sound like "can't get it up no more" -would be a great jingle for viagra.
standing in a forested region? *gets ears checked*

Yes they got a great full sound, good harmonies and catchy tunes. I love the album "In it for the money" to bits!

Thank you, We're Supergrass!
An RP classic. I still dig it - upped my rating from 7 to 8, since it must be pretty good if I still enjoy hearing it after maaaany plays.
A forest of reasons why I like this one...
I can't believe they made that MedicAlert commercial into a song.
If you dig this pick up the whole album, you will not be disappointed. "Only In It For The Money" is also a good one from these guys, similar vibe.
That must be a strain I have never heard of...
Help I've fallen...and I can't get up!
Yikes!!! Supergrass?? Think I'll have the soup.
Collest Band most people have never heard of !

Is "2" Underrated? Don't think so. You can't cheer me up with this. He sounds like Bono: bad A forest of reasons not to like this band
Another solid song from this very UNDERATED band.

Starts out like Bad Co's "Ready for Love." Not bad!
Quality track

Punk? Nothing on this album is punk in my book. Power-pop of a certain sort. I like the Ramones a lot, but, like, what the hell were they, generically? Okay, I think I've made my point. Which is that I don't really have one.
"Never Done Nothing Like That Before" would qualify i.m.o.
excellent toon from one of the last year's very best albums!
This is a new band to me. I dig the song.
One of the better UK bands currently around... with 4 great albums to their name...
They kinda remind me of Mott the Hoople or the Faces with the use of the piano. Sounds kinda glam. Very 70s sounding, in a good way. I love this retro sh*t! :whip:

Yes, and most of their studio work is nifty. In concert, ehh, not so hot. I saw them open for Radiohead back in Sept. and they were medium at best. Funny thing, on the albums their songs have diversity among them. Live, they all sounded alike. Monotonous, at that.
I'll have to upload some Stereophonics sometime.
