Come up to meet you
Tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you

Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions

Oh let's go back to the start
Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on a science apart

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart
Questions of science

Science and progress
Could not speak as loud as my heart
Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me

Oh when I rush to the start
Running in circles
Chasing tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start.

Not exactly a complaint, but this is the second time in as many days that this has been played on the Main Mix live stream. I notice repetitions often now. The lack of such repetition has been a hallmark of this station in the past & it is a shame to lose it.

All due respect to Coldplay,  Aimee Mann's cover is far more inspiring.  As with any good recipe, a talented chef can bring a bit more to the table.

It's easy to improve on recipes from the Bobby Flay or Martha Stewart cookbooks. You might be able to do it better but they are still Mother F-ing Bobby Flay and Martha Stewart.

OK... I'm thinking the playlist needs just a smidge more variety.

Yes.  We need Willie Nelson's version also!!!

Well there you are. I take it you'll be tackling the mysteries of the universe next!
I don't know why people knock this band so much

Heartbreaking scene in the British show Cold Feet with this song playing. Won't say what happened just in case you haven't seen the show. Always remember that scene when I hear this song
One of their very best, from their strongest album

Almost 21 years old.  Still a great listen. Also enjoy the inspired covers of this one.

We do a kick-ass version of this. More upbeat! I love it!
Not everyone has the same taste. If you don't like something turn it off and look for something you do like.  Stop your crying about it an move on. Not many groups are as successful as Coldplay. Obviously they have a lot of fans. I am one of them.
Blew the dust off this one, eh Bill?  Hadn't heard the original for a while either and was a pleasant surprise.  Nice one RP...love a Thursday morning left fielder, even when it was a hit some years ago...
Gag.  Poldclay again.

Not to mention Neil Young.

Great show, high energy and pretty cool stage lighting and effects.
Boo-ya!

To me, this is what music is all about.  We just heard the Coldplay version, and it sounds a bit whiney, etc, and we are also hearing the Aimee Mann version, which sounds better to me also. BUT........every singer brings to a song a different take.  Or else it would be karoake.  At the risk of inviting scorn, i have become a fan of American Idol simply because i love hearing a good song, and how some artists can take standards and change them to suit their voice.  Granted, it is "pop" music, but not always, as they have theme nights, and force the contestants to conform to a certain style.  Sometimes it's a winner, most times not.  Still, there is J-Lo, but i digress.  My point: enjoy the music!!
'nuff said.

.....when Coldplay was actually a good band.  Too bad they could only crank out 2 good albums before they completely sold out.  Clearly this album was their shining moment.
One of the most boring songs I've heard in quite a while.
Ha Ha!  I have never been more pleased to hear this song!!

Pass the sick bucket and the MUTE button...bleah
This is a good song of Coldplay {#Daisy}
With all the whining by all the Coldplay haters here, i can't even hear Chris Martin whine anymore... {#Wink}

Damn...

Anyway, i love this one...

Nice!
I like whiny ok....  I thought it was pretty.
I hear and can understand the comments about his pitch being "whiny", and I'm not a huge Coldplay fan, but this song is beautiful.
{#Curtain}

Sorry, but I did just MUTE.

I second that.A pretentious hook laden band. They do it well though...
Chris' singing sucks on this number.
Is that a wounded dog?
Huh, so that's what Coldplay sounds like. Never noticed them before, but heard the name.
YUCK! This song is seriously overrated, can't stand his high-pitch.
This song was used for a few years here in Illinois during their public service ads on TV to have people sign up as organ donors.  Judging by the tremendous hate by some commentors here for Chris Martin and his howling wail on this cut, my guess is they probably turned off more than a few potential good samaritans.

I must agree! She seems to pace the song better. This version feels off-tempo in comparison. I don't dislike Coldplay but this isn't their best.

Seriously, room for all ... I really got hooked on them after two things.. first, realizing it was them .. er .. 3 things ... first realizing it was them I was tapping or humming along with... second their videos and The Scientist just awesome.. and third seeing them perform semi-live.
On Dish TV there's a station called Ovation .... they play this show "Later ... with Jools Holland", their tag, 5 bands 1 stage ... and many times it just works on many levels.. Coldplay seems to be one of those bands that's on more often, and one of my favorites is watching the drummer doing Viva La Vida... sometimes I think "more cowbell" watching that drummer..

I really like this song, but "live" his voice isn't strong enough for my tastes to belt through a whole concert.
I give this an 8 and I know it's because I love the video. C'est la vie.

This is one of those songs that makes me more and more depressed, thanks for the free therapy RP.
Somebody help me out here...Coldplay wrote this song, and Aimee Mann covered it? I really prefer Aimee Mann's version, but this isn't too shabby. The howling Wolfman bit is a little cruel, doncha think?
I still mis some sort of 'feeling' with the "A rush of blood to the head" album. Definately prefer Parachutes and X&Y. Both got them on Vinyl and especially Parachutes is on my turntable a LOT!
Meh. Coldplay leave me cold.
This song absolutely slays me. Their highest point by a good margin.

This was the song that turned me onto Coldplay. Unfortunately, most every other song they play turns me off. Sad, I know, but that is the jist of it. Their name is appropriate because everytime they play it, it just leaves me cold.
Very thought provoking lyrics. Smooth vocals & instruments complete this unique song.
God how I love this song (and the whole album)4 years passed, but another time the same situation and this song that fits me as a glow
Ahhhh, the sounds of a broken heart...
Mainstream radio overkill or not.....this one is a classic. Depressing, heartfelt and overwhelming to the emotions. In one word, beautiful.
