There's something there

I was patrolling a Pachinko
Nude noodle model parlor in the Nefarious zone
Hanging out with insects under ducting
The C.I.A was on the phone
Well, such is life

Latino caribo, mondo bongo
The flower looks good in your hair
Latino caribo, mondo bongo
Nobody said it was fair, oh

Latino caribo, mondo bongo
The flower looks good in your hair
Latino caribo, mondo bongo
Nobody said it was fair

Latino caribo, mondo bongo
The flower looks good in your hair
Latino caribo, mondo bongo
Nobody said it was fair

For the Zapatistas I'll rob my sisters
Of all the curtain and lace

Down at the bauxite mine
You get your own uniform
Have lunchtimes off
Take a monorail to your home

Checkmate, baby
God bless us and our home
Where ever we roam
Now take us home, flaquito

what a creative artist gone to soon😞
I love Joe but don’t love this
I could not stand the Clash, but Joe's work with this project I really like.
Just had to up this from an 8 to a 9 in my blissful perfect moment 🤘
i swear this was played 2 days ago...
i could imagine Mark Knopfler doing this .dig it
Love all the stuff going on in this....accordian, bongos, violin, guitar and Joe.
Bill, what a great segue from Redemption Song by Marley (I love Joe's version too) to this song. A sincere thank you from sunny San Diego!
Joe Strummer: Everything he did was outstanding. Is he mentioned in the Rock and Roll hall of fame? He is? Hope so.
Gone too soon,miss you Joe🙏
Knopfler / Straits vibe to a certain extent
Great lyrics
Incredible!!!!{#Music}
I had no idea that the Mescaleros only existed from 99-02. Such great music over such a short time.
When guitars seduce
This is the song that turned me on to Radio Paradise many years ago.  Love that it is still in the rotation
Really like his Mescalero years, I think some of his best music.
Years ahead of it's time - we should all start playing this at parties. Slow sultry dancing !
Whenever I hear this riff I think of Englebert Humperdinck... every time i wake up then i start to break up

I've also heard Coma Girl here on RP - the reason i downloaded the album....awesome collection by Joe & crew

Get Down Moses does get played. Good one, too.

Points for referencing bauxite.
Both cool and groovy.

Yes, it was seamless. Gave me chills.
I first heard this on RP and bought the CD (not an uncommon occurrence). The whole album is excellent.
So chill. And that unmistakable voice. Requiescat in pace, Mr. Strummer.
RIP Strummer!

How about playing Cooling Out or Mega Bottle Ride? My favorite two cuts on the Global A Go-Go disc.

Comments like this just go to show that all this is very subjective, and has a lot to do with what you're used to and your own peculiar tastes.  I rather like Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, and I'm also quite partial to Mexican food in California.  Especially the great stuff made by all my wonderful Mexican friends and neighbors.  TexMex and other South West Mex varieties ... yeah, they're all right.
Gotta say, Northern New Mexico cuisine is really an art apart. Not Tex or generic Southwest. Agreed, food from the neighborhood is a blessing and a treat. My Santa Barbara neighbors were lovely and generous, and put up with my gringo espanol with grace and humor.

This is a great album, well worth a listen.

Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - Rock The Casbah, Live (1999)

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros playing Rock the Casbah, live in Cologne, Germany (1999). Superb performance, with very high quality sound. Enjoy.      on Jul 23, 2006

Love his solo work. R.I.P. Joe.
I also first heard this in the Brangelina movie and fell in love with it.

Archiving pics so more pics of me being a celebrity whore!
When I met Joe Strummer of the Clash. He was very chill, totally friendly, didn't treat anyone like he was better than them. I even got a hug from him!!
The gal that was part of his entourage took this pic and actually mailed it to us. Didn't expect to ever see it. Very, very cool.

Monnnndddo bongo
I really, really like the bass line.
Not unlike San Tropez by The Floyd, does this song transport it's listeners: for me, all the way down to a sandy caribe beach at dusk whilst a gentle breeze paired nicely with a lilting melody helps ease a very cool & refreshing mojito down me parched throat
This is better - and look at the comments, a real love it or hate it record.  Solid 6, maybe 7 from me (it's not my favourite sound but I'll defend Joe's right to make it)

Probably more like eating curry in Leeds, but I like it anyways.

Just because they use the same ingredients, know how to cook and love what they're doing does not mean the food will taste the same. I grew up eating the style of "Mexican" food served in Northern New Mexico. I've eaten the same ingredients in California, cooked by good cooks who love what they're doing, and there still is no comparison. California "Mexican" food is inferior to that served in New Mexico.

I like some of Joe Strummer's work, but this one misses the mark, IMHO.

WXPN, the University of Pennsylvania public radio station, has begun airing "Joe Strummer's London Calling", a BBC radio show he DJ'd in the late '90s. It's a kick to listen to the eclectic music he chose. XPN is available online at xpn.org (not to compete with RP or anything) and the show is on Tuesday nights at 8pm eastern. It's probably elsewhere as well, but thought some of you might be interested.

"The CIA was on the phone, well... ... ...such is life"
Reminds me of walking on busy streets, crowded with other people walking. Not in any type of hurry, just checking out the crowd. To see and be seen.

His last show was at Liverpool University on 22 November 2002, just a month before he died. On the same tour, Mick Jones jammed with Joe and the Mescaleros at the Fire Brigades Union benefit gig at Acton Town Hall on 15 November. They played Bankrobber and White Riot together. I wished I'd been there.

They sure did. The played five nights in a row at the Troubadour some years ago, and dug pretty deep into the Clash catalog every night... Never having seen the Clash live, seeing those five shows was pure bliss...
Maybe I just like practically anything with a a latin beat in it...but the mellow vibe in this one is perfect.
Joe was simply one of the greatest. In all respect
I give it a 9 just for the opening strains of guitar. Beautiful!
I like that. Veery cool. Never heard of it
The past year I have become the bigest Joe Strummer fan. I have always kinda liked him and the clash, but now I'm suddenly actively listening to him alot. Both the clash and solo stuff.
RIP (Rest in Punk) John Graham Mellor AKA Joe Strummer.
