But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are comin’ through
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
All your reindeer armies, are all going home
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you’ve left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who’s rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it’s all over now, Baby Blue
somebody must have talked her into doing this song. Not like her to do such a bad rendition of a song. One of my least favorite Dylan covers. Even her slide guitar can’t save it.
Bonnie can do no wrong.
I love, love, love Bonnie. But this is one of the worst covers of a Dylan song I know of. Sounds really forced. Sorry Bonnie. I still love you.
Wow isn't it incredible how differently people can hear things, I think it sounds so effortless and breezy. I love it!
Bonnie - just the loveliest and most American voice. A national treasure as many have said.
Don't know what an "American" voice is, but it is certainly lovely. BR can move from pure to scratchy and back effortlessly and always pitch perfect.
BR - an American treasure - that's for sure
a weak cover. adds nothing
so tired of her White Trash Chick posing
Ugh.
Fake voice? How does she accomplish this? Have you become infected by the "fake news and everything else you can think of" syndrome? Is this really a synthesizer that is programmed to sound like Bonnie Raitt? Enlighten please.
Bonnie Raitt is great; thiscover rates an eight!
Sadly, fake news is real, even when orange man says it.
LLRP all the same!
should get at least a three
or better, maybe
an eight
out straight?
Love this rendition of Dylans.
a fake voice and a weak cover. just contrast this to Joan Baez's Dylan covers. No comparison

Says rp's antagonist-in-chief. It's as if this "wiseking" person just waits for cheap and easy openings. "So tired" indeed.
STFU asswipe
Wait! She's not posing! That's the beauty part! Love me some Bonnie!
Bonnie's voice is the perfect antidote for all the auto-tuned artificially amped dance crap I hear at the gym when I forget to bring my iPod. Her note bending has such a beautiful natural curve I feel she is caressing the melody.
Agreed - Now that is a compliment, nice work Jamesat43

Say what you really mean.
Love it.Dylan just announced tour dates. A bunch of them in the midwest! Highway 61 lives!
We're talking road tripping in the fall for Dylan shows.
We are now blessed.
The never-ending tour's gotta be the temporarily paused never-ending tour, eh?
This is one of my fave BD tunes, and this BR cover is nice, gonna +1 to an 8 today. Long Live RP and Bobby Dylan tunes performed by great artists!!

The 13th Floor Elevators did a great variation on this song. Not for everyone, I'm sure.
13th Floor Elevators? The band that formed when Muzak broke up? :)

i remember that!

Everybody please request "Have A Heart" so it will get some 'net play. Thanks!
(oh and here he is, himself, following on! (in this sequence, future readers.)
That's funny, first want to say I am no Bob hater, anyone who has seen any of my comments regarding him knows I am a huge fan, matter of fact much more of a Dylan fan then Bonnie Raitt, but there is rich irony talking about preferring Dylans voice over Raitts in any context!
just give us bob.
Them with The Man,Van,that Bill played some days ago !
just give us bob.
Me too.
Van the Man w/Them
Music from which is sampled wonderfully by Beck on Jack-Ass
Nope.
The Byrds did it better.

excellent version and tribute to the original of this song published for the first time in 1965, for the talent Mr. Bob Dylan, of this time brought here by the talent and distinct artist Ms. Bonnie Ryat -

Well put.
