I wrote all night
Like the fire of my words
Could burn a hole up to heaven
I don't write all night burning holes
Up to heaven no more
I stood out in the rain
Like the rain might come
And wash my eyes clean
I don't stand out in the rain
To have my eyes washed clean no more
C'est la vie she says
But I don't know what she means
I say "Love, easy, hey come to me"
C'est la vie she says
But I don't know what that means
I say alright, well
C'est la vie
I stood out in the night
In an empty field and I called your name
I don't stand out all night in empty fields
And call your name no more
I waited for days
For your voice to answer to me
I don't wait up for days
For your voice to answer to me no more
C'est la vie they say
But I don't know what they mean
I say love's easy if you let it be
C'est la vie they say
But I don't know what that means
I say alright, well
C'est la vie
I say alright, honey
C'est la vie
Ain't that just how it goes, honey
C'est la vie
Like the fire of my words
Could burn a hole up to heaven
I don't write all night burning holes
Up to heaven no more
I stood out in the rain
Like the rain might come
And wash my eyes clean
I don't stand out in the rain
To have my eyes washed clean no more
C'est la vie she says

This one gets me every time.
"Do they know it's Christmas time at all?"
Nice song.
Nice. Another first time track hear here on RP. This is a good vibe. Happy wistful. Uplifting downer. Love that synth rhythm. I got a 7.
I love this guys work

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. It would be interesting to hear about the station you find that's better than this one.
I've always liked the phrase "Don't let the doorknob hit you where the good lord split ya"

This is really good. Especially compared to all the junk being played on this station these days.

I clicked on the cover just to see when this song came. I saw that it was released in 2018. "Oh," I thought to myself, "it's a fairly new release." Then I remembered it's 2024. This song came out 6 years ago! Good Lord. Somebody slow down that time clock, please!

This is rather a pleasant gentle little number with a poignant lyric. Once again, a nod to Bill and Co. for bringing us a stream of new material we'd never get to hear otherwise - thank you RP!
