So don’t you listen to ‘em, ‘cause people always got something to say
Just listen to you heart
Don’t you ever worry ‘cause worry’s gonna kill your dreams
Even though you’re walking in cold dark foreign places
Hang on to your dreams ‘cause dreams keep things alive
And cut away those strings you don’t need with the sword you carry down inside
And listen to your heart
‘Cause I’m alive, to gamble love I’m gonna bet my soul the day will come
And I was right, ‘cause there’s no wrong
I’m gonna bet my heart and gain the sun
By tomorrow
And someone tried to warn me that I was being followed
But every time I look behind all I see is my shadow
I’m haunted by the thoughts of what other people think
But I won’t listen to ‘em ‘cause I’m gonna do my own thing
With this life
And listen to my heart
And listen to my heart
‘Cause I’m alive, to gamble love I’m gonna bet my heart the day will come
And I was right, ‘cause there’s no wrong
I’m gonna bet my heart and gain the sun
‘Cause I’m alive, to gamble love, I’m gonna be my soul the day will come
And I was right, ‘cause there’s no wrong
I’m gonna bet my heart and gain the sun
By tomorrow
time sig?
It seems like it might have 2>?
4/4 and another one in there? Thoughts?
I haven't counted all the way through but it seems like occasionally syncopated 4/4.

Yes, it's a grower, this one... Just moved to a rare '9', I am really enjoying this.
Heard it yesterday on my iTunes shuffle and again today on RP. 3 years later still nice!
Naugatuck,Connecticut
It has an average rating of "7.3", perhaps the "fine tastes" of other RP listeners are different than yours.
Thanks for the comeback on that one Proc....heck I've rated it an 8 and while I don't claim to have "fine tastes" I believe the idea of music is pretty much "to each their own" - obviously some songs are more widely liked than others, and I am not ashamed to be in the "I like this song" camp. Seriously these negative commenters/trolls are getting a bit irritating!!
Long Live RP!!
This song is soft, lamenting, and somber. Its not the most technically proficient song, but it speaks nevertheless.
Pretty bad, really, and not fit for the fine taste of RP.

Ye I also put it in the Most Excellent niche
Burned or Burnt?
One that get's better the more you hear it... or @ 3:30 am/pm (sounded good 4:15pm here)
Pretty bad, really, and not fit for the fine taste of RP.
It's that stupid synth piano playing the three notes in the chorus below it's capable range. Bloody annoying.
I can see what you mean but I still like it for reasons I can't explain. It just "hits the spot" right now. Might not be something I would want to hear many times a day, but this is the first time for me and it's got a nice, juicy groove.

Hm, that a tough one. How about theburned.com ?
Great song. <3
I agree it is one of those songs that make you stop what you are doing and investigate!
exactly
nope, not yet. this was baumans initial effort. you could always try listening to Kan'Nal though
Thank you, rabbi_phil! I like Kan'Nal very much and have seen them live a couple of times in Eugene, OR. I thought there was something familiar here with The Burned, and now you've identified it for me.
yeah, this is the first i've listened. i kind of like it.
would like to hear more.

I totally agree (nice hook)
I'm with you.
RP makes me FLY
Thank You!
Really? Audioslave? I don't hear it.
Of course, I don't listen to Audioslave by choice, so I suppose I could be missing it.
Instant 8, trending upward.
Agree in stereo...
Agreed.

Definitely, especially the familiar part. Love the haunting quality, the violin.
So many times while listening to RP I'll be working away and then a song comes on and I have to stop what I'm doing and demand "WHO IS THAT?"
Instant 8, trending upward.
A 7 for now.
