There she goes
There she goes again
Racing through my brain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she blows (there she blows again)
There she blows again (there she blows again)
Pulsing through my vein (there she blows again)
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she goes
There she goes again
She calls my name
Pulls my train
No one else could heal my pain
But I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she goes
There she goes again
Chasing down my lane
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains

There she goes (there she goes again)
There she goes (there she goes again)
There she goes (there she goes again)

  Absurdly catchy!
Every time I hear this song, I love it like the first day. I loved it from the first time I heard it on the radio, and I still love it 40 years later. I can't explain what makes this song so special to me, but it's definitely one of my favorite songs.

Spot on retort!

I really wanted to post something about that greentini. But, I think I'll maintain a higher standard and, let that person steep in their ignorance. Didn't know God had been replaced as judge of all mankind.

Turn it up!

Such a fantastic album. Weekends. 90's. College. Altered States. Drives. Sunsets.

mixed responses on this including from one who appears to have asked the band. the lyrics certainly sound like addition calling to the singer. made it more interesting for me

Not accounting to the lads themselves when I asked them.
What an album this was/is - stonking!
One of the greatest one-hit wonders of all time.

Really.
What's wrong with cats?
The whole album is superb - such a shame that the band didn't thrive.
I was out painting and singing along and the neighbors hens joined in...I believe I was more in tune but they were more joyful
Her comes your man
I'd only know the remake by Sixpence None the Richer for so long.  it's an interesting contrast.
How can you think illegal drugs don't have some positive value after hearing this well crafted pop song?
I only gave it a 7 at some point. 9

Needs to segue into Can You Dig It? by The Mock Turtles for that real 90s vibe...
Yeah, I bet that album has a special price. $1.99 Cheap! Haha.

It's most likely you are thinking about the song with the same title by the Velvet Underground.
There She Goes Again
There she goes again
She's out on the streets again
She's down on her knees, my friend
But you know she'll never ask you please again
Now take a look, there's no tears in her eyes
She won't take it from just any guy, what can you do
You see her walkin' on down the street
Look at all your friends she's gonna meet
You better hit her
There she goes again
She's knocked out on her feet again
She's down on her knees, my friend
But you know she'll never ask you please again
Now take a look, there's no tears in her eyes
Like a bird, you know she would fly, what can you do
You see her walkin' on down the street
Look at all your friends that she's gonna meet
You better…

Well said :D

Have seen this suggested to be the perfect pop song - I can't think of a counter-argument. Excellent! pxd

Perfection
This is a delightfully perfect pop confection.  I don't know if I'm being fair saying it's quite likeable, but somehow it falls short of most excellent just for being so perfectly poppy.
There are two great The La's songs. This is one of them.

Those pussy lyrics are purportedly about heroin. ;-)
Haven't heard this tune since I watched So I Married an Axe Murderer a very long time ago!  {#Bananasplit} Dancing at my desk
a nice piece of pop confection from a great album.  lot's more good stuff like this on this CD.
Adore this song! Hate to say it, but it is the sound of my youth!
Excellent song from an excellent album -

Such a shame.....Lee Mavers' head grew so big, he killed himself off!!

Pop at it's finest. Love it! So much going on, yet so simple.

Funny, it reminds me of Then She Appeared by XTC. Odd that the song titles go together.
apparently, this song is about shooting heroin. the lyrics bear it out. "There she blows again, Pulsing through my veins." either way, a wonderful hooky tune. it'll be in my head all day.

Love it. Just a great little pop song, filled with honey and light. Sappy, perhaps, but I refuse to channel my snarky cynical side when I can smile and bop my head, at least sometimes. And good memories too. A sweet confection.
The Byrds with Frankie Valli on lead vocals.

Wish they stuck together.  But then again maybe a followup album wouldn't have been as good.  Gotta say, one (if not the one) of my favorite albums.

Couldn't have put it better myself if I tried.  Yet another example of how the market is pandering to the female component — to the detriment of integrity and male musicians in general.

So. How is it living in Bizarro World?

A superb example of British pop.

  That's what I always thought.
Quick searches aren't turning it up online, but I really like Scott Miller's/The V-Roys' cover of this.  Scott puts a nice growl into the delivery that makes it that much more interesting, like he's really not happy about how into she (or it) he is.

As usual this original is far superior to it's covers.

Totally agree... Record company suits really like to get those bands with a woman singer to do these, got the Sundays to do Wild Horses, 10,000 maniacs with Peace Train, etc. Sometimes it works ok, often it doesn't and most times inferior to the original because as these bands seem to always say in their interviews, they really didn't want to do the song. Just because the simpleton idiot record company suits prefer a sure thing (old recycled hit) over promoting the best singles from that band. Sixpence added nothing to this, and it made no sense to have a hetero (christian even) lady singing this song whatsoever, what you can't change it to here he comes? Anyway, bravo to the LA's, good single, nice album altogether, but they imploded, lead singer/songwriter was too much of an unbalanced character to survive the music biz and ticked off his band, the producer, and the label from what I read, so all we have is that one CD by these guys.

Regardless of what Mavers said or didn't say...originally he said it was about H and then he said it wasn't...I think it's more about a girl who is like a drug, like being in love, like love is a drug...get it?
