Mojave 3 — Some Kinda Angel

Released: 2004
Length: 3:41
Plays (last 30 days): 2
In the night-time bars
The hours go slowly
The life-lines fade fast as the music plays soft
And the band falls apart

And Jane needs some excitement
Her boyfriend stands tall
For nothing at all
As he bores her to bed

In the morning light
I was fading fast
Those moonshine visions
Were gaining their grasp and the highway blues
Had pulled me down to my knees

And you, were some kinda angel
You took me aside
Said hey nevermind
I'll make you feel better

And the morning came
You said i will never understand
Why the midnight lies are never planned
And which dream is yours
And which is mine

I said hey don't you feel alive
When the night time holds ya
And there's nothing that you want
No place that you can't go
Nothing that you need
No one you cannot touch

I said yeah..gimme something new
Gimme something new

What  a discover! Never heard about that band, it's great. Between Bob Dylan and the Byrd. Thank's radio paradise!
Just a fantastic song, always has been!
i like
very much
I've always loved the Charlatans-like sound and jam quality to this, and it's among my favorites of Neil Halstead's many catchy gems. He's such a talent!
I was still reading about Neil Halstead on Wiki after the Slowdive tune RP played three songs ago when this came on. Nicely curated (per usual here).
Yes please, more Mojave 3.  Or Slowdive, anytime at all....
I have this cd. It has been a while since I last played it. But now listening to this song here... it's an amazing feeling!!! I don't know where else I would listen to this kind of music. Thnak you, RP!
Bill all this great tuneage LOVE IT

This song reminds me of the Jayhawks...

I think its more Bob Dylan and Bell and Sebastian

Yeah - but I like the original assessment.  S&G's Only Living Boy in NY, esp at the end.

I like this—has a byrds-like feel.
Please segue into Spacemen 3. Just because.
First time listen, I give an easy 7

Love Mojave 3! I've heard Neil Halstead aptly described as what Nick Drake would sound like had he survived and had be been happy.

I know this was from 2004, but I have to agree...  I like Mojave 3, too - but I might need to listen to other stuff by them in order to be a little more objective.  And the comment about Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel mating just made me spew vodka all over my monitor...  It's okay, though - it's cheap vodka. {#Lol}

That's not the image I wanted to have this morning...{#Lol}

Thought it was a poppy Robyn Hitchcock! Nice.

I can hear that.
Great band, as well as just about anything that comes from the 4AD record label!

Sold... in the first three bars. Folky but electric. Complete with Al Kooper organ & Al Stewart vocals. Thanks RP!
I heard Al Stewart too.

very nice...
Background vocals at the end sounds like Simon and Garfunkel's in "Only Living Boy In New York"
8) Like it, like it.
Pretty good. Nice down home sound.
Terrific song by a terrific band.

This is a great band!!! Saw them open for Lush back in the day when their first Album came out.
Happy Sad song!!! I also like Mojave 3. Sometimes they're boring. It's that kind of music that you like to hear on your own. Alone at home, smooking slowly..
