Psalm 58:10 (1769 Oxford King James Bible Authorized Version)
10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

But if the bible is supposed to be the word of god, then don't those contradictions matter, small though they may be? Shouldn't they point to the conclusion that the bible isn't, in fact, the word of god, but of many different believers and followers of Judaism and Christianity, which was then consolidated, edited, and translated many times over the years to the form of the book today?

Of course, this is just my opinion. I personally view religion (at least, most major religions) as doing more harm than good, and think that they have no place in our society today.
The brains at SMBC offer a condensed version:

I like Romans 12:19 (King James Version)

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Could easily be Kali or Cthulhu, but the idea of not assuming that you are the instrument of judgement might make the world a safer place.

I am never done learning and unthirsty for knowledge and wisdom.

I will consider any and all sources in that pursuit.

Thank you for this pearl.
