it auto-refreshes on songs unless you are scrolled down a specific column and reading - we do not want someone be interrupted by song change while reading info. in that case, just scroll the current column back to the top for it to refresh to the current song. if no columns are scrolled, everything refresh at once upon song change.
Do I have to run the player on the page to auto-refresh? It appears to update when I'm running the player on the same page. It doesn't auto-refresh when I'm not using the player and I have not moved the mouse, clicked on anything or scrolled anywhere. Are there any special firewall configurations I need to support the auto-refresh?
The old site updated "now-playing" without running the player. That is useful when one is not using the web player but keeps the web page open as a real time playlist and information source.
Thank you for the latest version with multi-column. There are still a number of issues.
The ScrollToRefresh popup (when the song changes and the comments have been moved) is quite clumsy. Refresh should simply be a button. The lock icon was fine...why change it? Add a caption for clarity.
Slide show still doesn't work in Vivaldi/Win11. Song info displays, but no show just black screen.
we are working on fixing slideshow - default animation has made it not work on some older devices and browsers. Rest assured I'm on it and it will be included in a future release.
as far as scroll to refresh - many users complained of the lock/unlock being unclear functionality and didnt want to be interrupted reading info when a song changes. if you are reading a column and the song changes, the column doesn't change until you scroll back up so you're not interrupted. if enough people find it to be clumsy I can run it by William & co to change it to a refresh button. in the meantime only the column you are reading is affected by the refresh lock.
we are listening to everyone's input / feedback, and trying to address bigger bugs and significant quality of life improvements. Thanks for your patience - I am trying to answer everyone when I can. You are heard!
I'm on Windows: Chrome. I'm playing music through my Alexa devices, but I keep the website open on my PC for the playlist. It used to give me the song in the tab title even without playing music through the site. If I'm doing something on another browser tab, it's great to be able to see at a glance. I would never have thought to request that as a feature, but since it always used to be the case, I see now how much I relied on it. It seems like something easy to overlook when redesigning the site, but if it's easy to reinstate, I hope it happens.
it will be re-implemented in an upcoming release with other bug fixes. thanks for your feedback and patience!
I'm basically batting 1000 for never getting anyone to answer my questions or address my concerns here on RP, but I guess I'll try again. Regarding this new layout change, I am still unable to see any track information (for example, the date when the song was posted, the length, the band name, song name, the lyrics, the band info, etc.) on the Radio Paradise app. I'm using an Android phone (Moto G Stylus 2024). When I click on the song image that's currently playing and it takes me to the page with the band info, song info, listener comments, everything is blacked out, except for the images for the song. Scrolling down the page, it's all black until I see an image of the band/artist, but no band info (blacked out). I continue scrolling down, then thankfully, the comments show up. It's like half of the page is redacted!
I'm a long-time listener and supporter (since 2007) and I've always preferred using the phone app. Is there anyone looking into this?
Thank you.
We appreciate the feedback - I've forwarded your issues to our android / mobile dev. We are looking into all user issues! We are a small team and only so many hours in the day to respond. I know some devices are having issues with the Android app - rest assured we are on it. Thanks for your patience.
A few days ago I noticed that the song info, in RP app, is making some errors. Namely, the song info + lyrics + artist bio has blackened text, while the comments can be read. So today I've deinstalled the app, installed it again, and the same error persists + there is another error: there is no My Paradise option in cache block downloads.
Any info would be appreciated.
Best regards,
C.
P.S.
Now I see that even the Profile page on the website has changed: all I see is profile picture, no other info whatsoever?! Wow, I guess there are some big changes going on on the site ATM.
P.P.S.
Another error I'm seeing now, also in RP app: after downloading a cache block and start playing music, the main page does not have an indicator that I've already rated a song, but when I click on the song and check the song info page the rating is there.
Weird. Nothing similar ever happened, and I've been around here for quite some time. Hoping that RP Tech Squad will sort these problems soon.
Please note your device / browser (or if its app just note whether ios or android!) I will relay your issues to our mobile developer. Thanks
It would be nice if they'd say "we're on it" or "can't do it" even without any explanation as to why. Just fixing it or ignoring it and not saying anything is an interesting experiment though.
Trying to answer everyone individually, making note of persistent / significant issues and fixing them as I come upon them. Thank you for your patience.
Finally getting around to posting this question here. Album artwork in the Sonos app in our iPhones and iPads on any of the RP channels no longer shows in the app, does anyone else have that issue?
I've tried the following:
Removed RP from "Your Services" in the Sonos app, logged out of Sonos, logged back in and added RP back.
I've tried adding the 128, 320, and Flac versions
This is of course after authenticating with my RP credentials after adding the RP service back
So the artwork that does show appears to be the default RP channel artwork.
All devices are updated to the current OS versions, and the Sonos app is up-to-date.
Somewhat more significant feature request: Can you link the Artist, Album, and/or Track for the current song from the Now Playing page? In the left column, you can click past songs to get the big popup, but not the song on right now. Relatedly, the track and artist (and the word "Comments") have a pointer cursor, but do not appear to be clickable.
yes - good call, thanks. will be in the next update.
William, can you please do something about this gentleman with multiple screen names and put him out of all of our misery? Thank you for your attention to this matter!
not sure to whom you are referring - if they are creating an issue, please let us know

Could you guys make a desktop web page like what used to be on "/music/what-is-playing/info?" This showed playlist current and history in the left column, another column for song info (album cover, rating, and wikish content), another column for lyrics, and the far right column for listener song comments. Not sure that all columns are necessary, but at least the playlist, song info, and user comments was wonderful. And this page updated automatically, showing that data for the current song. However, if I clicked on a song, the page remained static until I clicked again on the current page. It worked quite well. And it stayed updated for hours and hours.
Can that page (and other pages) be rendered without the player? Or at least not make me initiate the player on the page. I stream RP from a local server and don't use the player on the website. As a not-developer, seems having the player object be selectable as an option would be a good thing.
Edit: Apparently, this page now does everything in the first item above: https://radioparadise.com/player/info/main-mix. However it doesn't seem to auto-refresh upon a change in songs. Perhaps it only changes if I have the player on the page playing?

That's a no can do. I guess. But worth bumping just in case.

Extremely insignificant feature request: On the new homepage, where you show the listener counts of each station, can you add digit separators for the thousands groups? (Congrats on thousands of listeners!)
That info is really neat. I'm not a Mellow listener, but I'm tempted now to check it out. (Go KFAT!)
