Yep, these 4 all spawned on the same day. I think there is another suspicious one (maybe two) that escapes me at this point, but that's part of the problem - too many to try and keep track of.
Beyond the (now) well documented abuses below, there are periodic posts that are obviously meant to promote random causes and organizations. Mail order brides, a new band, hair tonic... you get the picture.
Instead of making the residents have to call out the spammers publicly, it would be useful to have a process of flagging users/content to a queue that could be easily monitored and managed by the powers that be.
There are lot of possibilities on how to implement, but the general idea I think is for the user base to call out abuse, and for an administrator somewhere to decide that an account should no longer be allowed to engage in the dialogue on the site.
I've been vocal here that I believe this forum is part of the difficulty in formatting "the site" (macro comment).... if you were to upgrade to an opensource platform like Discourse, the platforms built-in flagging would handle it. If that's too big a lift, then maybe just adding a plug-in flag management app would work.
There is also the easiest way... create a submission button somewhere to paste links to spam postings / users.
Last thing.... I would suggest that you add an authentication to email during account creation that prevents the use of burner email addresses. Blacklists are maintained and available on Github.
currently doing a bit of bot-cleanup.I appreciate yer effort, I'll make sure to check in there regularly until we put up the report spam functionality.
After the bots, it would be nice to get the split personality back to a single point of ignoring. It's really annoying when he sock puppets himself.
Sorry if I sometimes get short in there but as you'll see, there's a troll who thinks spammers have their place in our world.

Okay! There's a dedicated Spam thread where reports have gone to die for a couple of years...
Oh shoot - I haven't seen that thread. Admittedly I'm new to the forum ecosystem but I'm committed to being available and responsive to address issues and improve RP quality of life. Thinking we'll include some "report spam" functionality in the comments once I get through my mountain of a to-do list.
I'll talk to the team and figure out a way for users to report spammers. for now just drop it in bug reports & feature requests. thank you for bringing this to our attention!!!

Sort of off topic but not really, links in song comments aren't a different color from other text so those spammers' links might look normal.
(if you access song comments thru a back door, they're linked in blue. But just clicking on the song in the player, the links are white)
Since you're around right now, Boris, the song comments (Chrome, Mac) only show 20. Some songs have hundreds of comments going back decades but we can only see 20 (sorting by oldest shows the 20 oldest, etc)
And maybe at some point you could implement a better way to report spammers than just linking to the song or username and making you look for it. https://radioparadise.com/musi...'s_Fifth

What happened to the Search option in the Community Forum list of subjects?
there is a forum search button in the community forum page - it brings up a dialog where you can search by topic, post text, or poster - same as it was!

Since you asked....I like the list of songs by the artist on RP, and the ratings. It's interesting to see what people like and don't like.
I would shrink the picture for sure...and maybe make the bio box full width above everything else (maybe a small image embedded on the top right?).
If the list of songs for the artist was there....the user could then skip to the individual track and see that songs comments, etc. I assume the top (bio, image) wouldn't change.
Just some thoughts. Thanks.
the list of songs from an album which appear on RP appear on individual album pages, and you can go to each individual song page, and see the ratings / comments etc.
other albums is being finicky on the backend and going to be re-implemented soon but otherwise the artist page is good to go! what else would you like to see from an artist page?
