Excellent. I like all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons. I'm a big fan of poetry, and some singers are simply poetic to my brain. Of course art of any kind is extremely subjective. I think of Tori as a bit on the wild side.

I was drawn to her as a performer when I saw her on (I think) Letterman one night.  She practically oozed sex appeal when she played the piano.  Kind of like Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff Bridges rolled into one at the piano.

First of all, Tori is the first concert that I took my daughter to, when she was 15, and so I have very special memories to go with the songs. In fact, we have seen Tori together 6 times, something that will most likely not happen again between us.

Secondly, I think she is extremely talented, and she has a beautiful voice; she could sing the phone book, as far as I am concerned. But that is just me.

No it's not.  A lot of people like her but she's definitely a 'take her or leave her' type of artist and some of us happen to be 'leave her' people.

Oh, I don't know why people get bent out of shape when you make fun of their bands, it's someone's musical opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Ones musical taste, no matter how poor{#Wink}does not do anyone any harm except when RP plays stuff I don't like and I am forced to listen at work cause it is the only station that goes through our firewall!{#Headache}

Exactly.  The topic is actually kind of an odd question, when I get to thinking about it.  I mean, the most obvious response is "Because I really like it."  There's not too much more (relevant) discussion possible, but hell, I'll give it a go.

Just a bit ago, Just Like Heaven was played.  That there's a 10 for me, because I believe that it may be the most perfect pop song ever written. But why should anyone else care why I love that tune?  I also like Tori Amos, Talking Heads and that Carl Douglas song.
