Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaken
But you see it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head
They are fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head
They are cryin'
In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey, hey, oh
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Another mother's breakin'
Heart is taking over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
Since nineteen-sixteen
In your head, in your head
They're still fightin'
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head
They are dyin'
In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey, hey
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Hey, oh, ya, ya-a
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence

I think I'm with your husband on that. As much as I appreciate Dolores O'Riordan's talent and try to like the Cranberries in general, I just can't with her voice. It always sounds so over-exaggerated and like she's going to throw up.
My hubbie might prefer this version. He couldn't stand Dolores O'Riordan's voice. I much prefer the original version. It was so in your face.

This song is so fine, I rate it a nine!

While I agree with you regarding comparing the power of the original, I think this cover works really well when associated with the series 'Wednesday', which it is part of the OST.
Bill does love his slow covers, doesn't he?
Sometimes they work and give a song a whole new meaning.
And sometimes not. Without the bite of the original, there's not enough left.

Yeah, maybe this version doesn't have the same bite as the original, but Bella does introduce a greater sense of horror to this song, at least for me.
And that was BEFORE I noticed the album cover.

I've yet to come across a cover of this song that introduces a twist to the original (since it's impossible to do it justice otherwise, nothing can match the beauty of Dolores's voice)
