You must take the A train
To go sugar hill 'way up in Harlem
If you miss the A train
You'll find you've missed the quickest way to Harlem
Hurry, get on now it's coming
Listen to those rails a thrumming
All 'board get on the A train
Soon you will be on sugar hill in Harlem
To go sugar hill 'way up in Harlem
If you miss the A train
You'll find you've missed the quickest way to Harlem
Hurry, get on now it's coming
Listen to those rails a thrumming
All 'board get on the A train
Soon you will be on sugar hill in Harlem

This is a 10 for me, it's such a great tune!
I personally like a later release version of that song, from the 1966 "The Popular Duke Ellington" album; it has "polished" re-recorded versions of his most popular songs (there is even a remaster in Hi-Res that was released in 2016, which sounds great):

Next stop, Sugar Hill!
I had no idea there were lyrics to Take the A Train!
Super duper..!
Oh heck yes!
Classic and spectacular.
10!
10!
Stevie's "Sir Duke" followed by Sir Duke himself. Brilliant!
I'm no expert, but I really like Duke's left hand.
The signature tune of Willis Conover's 'Voice of America Jazz Hour' back in the days of short wave radio.. Great to hear it on RP.

It kinda swings. don't it?
A suitable, if somewhat obvious, segue from Sir Duke to Duke Ellington. (Slow clap…)
This is why I love RP
As far as I can see, it is the first time RP plays this tune, it’ s a 8 for me, not less
The Duke on RP At last !

The King of All, Sir Duke!

I gave it a 10 because it deserves it.
My parents first date was Ella and The Duke at Birdland, NYE 1954. I was raised on this fabulous music.
