Uhhhhhh, maaaybe? Bit of a stretch to my ears. I get the funky beat and the horn sound, but Children of Sanchez (which admittedly I haven’t listened to in decades) has a much brighter sound and is more melodic.

Thanks for challenging my brain! I saw Mangione live a bunch of times in the late 70s, including with strings for the CoS tour, and I played fluegelhorn (badly) in high school.
Album cover tickles my brain!
I was hearing a bit of David Axelrod's Holy Thursday... the song was taking me back to driving around in GTA 4 Liberty City.

…at a steady, determined and un-rushed pace, with a clear head.
Reminds me of the excellent acoustic album by the Beastie Boys, The In Sounds From Way Out; a rather different release from them in 1996 and also well worth finding.
mmmm MORE DUB please!

Thank You for the info.
That's quite a nice Sunday morning tune in my opinion

I  Agree.  Thanx RP!
It's Sunday, and the Bananetor runs loose!

Well that was pretty cool!
The bassline suddenly reminded me of "Regiment" from My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
I was just trying to figure out if it's actually a slowed-down sample when the song ended. I'm in a room with a loud fan but I think I heard the strings in the background.
Edit: Heard this song again -- it's not the same bassline, but still reminds me of Regiment

Movement of Jah People!
tied with Orbital’s “One Perfect Sunrise” and Lumo’s “Seven Minutes of Sun” for most perfectly evocative title.
