I always dug this performance by Jim Stafford on Johnny Carson's couch.

Spotnicks - Space is the Place.... crazy how many members there has been in this band over the years.... did we loose some during a fiery reentry?
The percussion on this version is pretty decent. Lacks the detail of the original, though.
The original is hard to beat - except, after hearing it a million times, this version is a breath of fresh air.
I like it!! Weird, but good! Thanx RP!

more like Nudnicks
Mason Williams would be disappointed.

It's slower than the original. Doesn't work for me, the spirit is gone.
This is no improvement on the original.
Then again, it's no worse than the original.

Interesting. My first response was fascination; I'd never heard a cover of Classical Gas before.
The more I learned about The Spotnicks, the more I liked them. Active since 1958?!? I'm older than that, yet I'd never heard of them. Moreover, they're considered one of the top instrumental rock bands from the1960's?! From Sweden?! And they played in space suits?
Ok, I'm hooked.
My thoughts exactly. I'm a little younger, but otherwise...The more I learned about The Spotnicks, the more I liked them. Active since 1958?!? I'm older than that, yet I'd never heard of them. They release 42 albums? Wow! And like many others, I've never heard of them. Thank you RP!

umm... nope
(reminds me of the time I was DJ-ing in northern Wisconsin; to which the locals were drunken gleefully bellowing "Slow Cousin Walter" - to Deep Purple "Smoke on the Water")

Before I even listen; no one can ever do better than Mason Williams version.
Now, I will listen.

1958 - present? Holy cats!
This is kind of cool, but seems a bit low-energy.

Sitting in my hotel room in Dhaka. What a contrast, what a joy.
Oh Yay! What a great song to hear on this beautiful Saturday. What a way to lift my spirits!!
I was traveling between Lake Louise and Jasper Canada and early one morning there was a young man practicing the intro to that song never left me 1979. Always loved that tune.
Much prefer Mason's version.
My GOD! That was amazing! Thank you!!
Well said. Yes.
