The band takes its name from the infamous master builder of New York City, Robert Moses. If you haven't read The Power Broker, Robert A. Caro's masterful biography of Moses, I think you should. It's 1200 pages long, but I think it's well worth the length. Moses is a fascinating and important figure; without ever being elected to office he had near-absolute power over the physical landscape of NYC for close to forty years. It's his pathological preference for highways and cars over mass transportation that made NYC and its suburbs what it is today, and indirectly shaped much of the rest of America. Caro to my mind is a biographer without peer; a very good writer and an incredible investigative researcher. Check him out if you have the patience/time/interest. 

Oh - and the song's good too. As others have said: it's a groove.

I like this a lot! I think that their other one on RP, Tearing Me Up, is even more powerful, but even on this song, their mastery of the beat and penchant for mining the grooves are astounding. Bravo, RP, for turning me onto their music.
