These are just flames
Burning in your fireplace
I hear your voice and it seems
As if it was all a dream
I wish it was all a dream

I see a world
A world turning in on itself
Are we just like
Hungry wolves howling in the night
I don't want no music tonight

Can we go on like it once was

Every time I hear another story
Oh the poor boy lost his head
Everybody feels a little crazy
But we go on living with it
Yeah they go on living with it

These are just flames
Burning in your fireplace
I hear your voice and it seems
As if it was all a dream
I wish it was all a dream

Can we go on like it once was
Can we go on like it once was

Every time I hear another story
Oh the poor boy lost his head
Everybody feels a little crazy
But we go on living with it
Yeah they go on living with it

I'll tell you one thing
We ain't gonna change much
The sun still rises
Even with the pain

I'll tell you one thing
We ain't gonna change love
The sun still rises
Even through the rain

Can we go on like it once was
Can we go on like it once was

Everybody feels a little crazy
Like it once was
Everybody feels a little crazy
Like it once was

Can we go on like it once was

So many bands these days with this boring sound.

his voice has a similar, but more pure falsetto. heard he is doing a new album with a bit of a different sound and just going by Ondara

Agreed, sophomorific.

Is that your own neologism?  I'm assuming a portmanteau back-formation from 'sophomore' and 'soporific'.

I know, right? I just don't get Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Dave Matthews...

Like Gord Downey sang, "It will either move you or it will move right through you."
Another Simon & Garfunkel clone.
These lyrics really resonate with me...

I'll tell you one thing
We ain't gonna change much
The sun still rises
Even with the pain

I'll tell you one thing
We ain't gonna change love
The sun still rises
Even through the rain
every time I hear this song I think of Sandy Hook. not much has changed.

I guess you don't cuz none of the artist you named sound alike.

Maybe they're bored with the sounds you like?

I think you are wrong.

I hear, this song, only four notes in it, then it go on to a wimpy chorus . Fine for early morning FM stations, when you're trying to reach the Land of Nod, but positively soporiphic at work in a sweltering office. Snoozeville {#Sleep}

Agreed, sophomorific.
They did a decent job at Lolla on Saturday....watched it on the webcast.

You didn't really expect me to drive down to Chi. and stand there for hours amid the masses, did you?
The bowels and the stomach to me...

No, I'm being too hard on them. I just can't stand howlers going ooowoooohoooooo. Other than that, I would have given this much more than 'acceptable'.
{#Sunny}
Voice reminds me of David Gray
Like the undesirable child of Alt J and the Avett Brothers.
Seems like this one got pulled off but then is back on.  I like it.
Reminds me of the moon in conjunction with hearts&bones era paul simon and johnny clegg/juluka neither of whom I would mind hearing some of, incidentally

This song reminds so much of Iron and Wine! Unfortunately, it reminds me of the really bad newer stuff of theirs.

More and more we are hearing the violin in songs. {#Boohoo}
Cheers cocobob!  sweet music, kinda sorrowful in ways, though that sunny cover photo does have me wishing for a bottle of carmenere' and some good friends   Happy New Year All
Keep playing this band, they are really growing on me!
And yet another from this up and coming goup.  Simple and easy going with depth.  A 7+ on first hearing this.
So glad RP is finally playing The Head and The Heart. I heard an excellent interview on World Cafe last month with David Dye where the song writer mentioned this song was about how he was obsessed with watching the news coverage after the Sandy Hook shootings. I liked this song before I knew that, but this makes it even more sad.
Saw them live in montreal last year and an excellent young band beginning to get even better with maturity. Somebody pass me the excellent wine.
Nice melody hook and a simple, evocative sound. Like the rest of their music I've heard here.
Is this on the Mitty sound track?
First!

Also, I just made my wife a playlist with this song in it. She likes it too. And how are folks already rating this one before it's even done?
