Open wide I'm ready for the battle
Our fight, this burning bed
See the bones that bullets have shattered
And I feel every drop of blood you've bled
Lay down these promises broken
Take me into your hurricane
While violent clouds roll over
I'll hold your hand till the colors fade
I'll be here till your dying day
[Chorus:]
Sing loud from the roof tops
Come dance on the rivers edge
Carry me over mountains to the end of love
Close the gates to the city
Hear the drums on the hillside
Carry me over mountains to the end of love
Standing in a field of voices
Find shelter from the blame
Even if you think it's all over
I'll be here till the colors fade
I'll be here till your dying day
Sing loud from the rooftops
Come dance on the rivers edge
Carry me over mountains to the end of love
Close the gate to the city
Hear the drums on the hillside
Carry me over mountains to the end of love
OOoooh OOoohh OOooohhh [x4]
Put down the knife you're weilding
Let high stone walls fall away
With gentle time will be an ending
And I'll be here till the colors fade
And I'll be here till your dying day
[Chorus:]
Sing loud from the rooftops
Come dance on the rivers edge
Carry me over mountains to the end of love
Close the gate to the city
Hear the drums on the hillside
Carry me over mountains to the end of love
Sing loud, burn it down, call the river as we fall apart
Our fight, this burning bed
See the bones that bullets have shattered
And I feel every drop of blood you've bled
Lay down these promises broken
Take me into your hurricane
While violent clouds roll over
I'll hold your hand till the colors fade

..i can get into the sentimental songs, sometimes, and this'd be one such.."i'll be here 'til the colors fade" is a particularly nice lyric..standard fare? perhaps, but good food nonetheless..oh & +1 for being from Austin..
Sounds like Mumford must have had more sons. That's a bad thing.

Even so, I like this song.

If there's a video for this song, it will be a continuous circling shot of the singer standing on top of a mountain, clenching his fists and singing his heart out. I won't watch it.
Heartwarming, and I mean that in a bad way as in "That movie looks heartwarming, I won't be watching it."

I have to agree, it sounds like an average of recent bands (I especially hear some Boy & Bear and Coldplay in there). It is not bad, just uninteresting.
Like it, but is very derivative and "same" sounding. Voice is good, lyrics good, changes are on, not spectacular enough to rave about. Would be in a rotation just goes unnoticed.

Hi
Or on Americal Idol with dreamy lighting and colored lights on the singer.
