A long, long time ago
Shake off your shoes and
Kick off your boots
That's what she said to me
The world is a possibility
You know, know, know
Still believe in everything she told me
Hmm, mm, mm
Hmm, mm, mm
Sometimes I'm an invisible me
You can't see, but I can't notice a thing
I am a walk green with your pile of things
Never fit into your plan
Even though I've grown old
I still believe in everything she told me
Hmm, mm, mm
Grandma said when she took me inside
Gonna make minimal changes in life
Gonna make minimal space this time
Just make sure you don't lose your mind
Oh even though I've grown old
I still believe in everything she told me
Hmm, mm, mm
Hmm, mm, mm
Find myself and that's for sure
Whether you're rich or whether your poor
And when the hand is broken, open comes the door
Lead tonight, what you waiting for?
Even though I've grown old
I still believe in everything she told me
Hmm, mm, mm
My grandma, man she dead and gone
Me, I'm still travellin' on
Adopt the night phase into dawn
Stars of night fade in the morning time
Even though I've grown old
I still believe in everything she told me
Hmm, mm, mm
You know I am still young
I still believe in everything I've done
Hmm, mm, mm
Hmm, mm, mm

Ta mère en tongs au prisu. Mais ça vaut quand même 7.
nice writing. good artistry. but...meh. i've heard about 1500 songs like it.
The vocalist has been listening to too many Paul Simon records.
4->3
I'll give it a 7 because it reminds me of another song I love — that "I Feel Good" song that Pete Yorn sings.
Good stuff. How about some songs off of Lemonade? Great album!
Every time I hear the beginning of this song I think: Rip-Off!! Listen to: The La's 'Doledrum'...
More of a strange brew - than a hot sauce!
LOVE me some G LOVE!
G-Love & Special Sauce is coming to Sacramento 1 week from Thursday. Should be a great show.

Funny, my immediate thought on seeing the name was the G-Spot, and that G-Love is the art of finding said magical location. Or maybe I've just got sex on the brain :o)
Y'know Fred, my personal take on 'sex on the brain' is that is where it indeed lives. The old 90/10 rule. Although, a warm questing hand of the requisite sex can detour all of that in a hurry.

The name "G-Love" seems to imply some sort of hip-hop or at least techno musician, not a folk singer. Time for a name change perhaps? Next you're going to be telling me that Michele Shocked is going to sing a song about Alaska or somesuch - based on the name, she clearly plays punk.

Has he run out of Special Sauce?

G-Love is very much into hip hop. But he is not limited to a single genre, obviously.

The name of a band doesn't always relate to their sound. 10,000 Maniacs, Moody Blues, Death Cab for Cutie, Toad the Wet Sprocket, you get the idea.G-Love is very much into hip hop. But he is not limited to a single genre, obviously.

I thought "G-Love and the Special Sauce" was a play on words for "Jesus and his Special Love". If not, I don't know how I came up with that one.
But hey, while we're on the subject, does anybody else think that Oingo Boingo is pig Latin for Ongoing Bongoing?
Jeez, it's late - I better go to bed (and fyi, I haven't had anything to drink! ;>).

Apparently you have not listened to much G.Love & Special Sauce (you should). G. Is a rappin' fool in concert.. "G. Love & Special Sauce is an alternative hip-hop band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are known for their unique, "sloppy", and "laid back" blues sound that encompasses classic R&B"
