There's not enough naivety in the world. Almost inevitably this song has been blagged by advertising vandals who are using to flog a bank or some such monstrosity in New Zild.

This song allows me to feel myself as a whistling master, when I whistle with it. And it feels good.

Something that is sweet, almost to the point of being sickeningly so. As a derogatory descriptive, it means something that is affectedly dainty or quaint, or is way too sentimental.
In American English it often refers to a type of simple sweet pop music, but in British English it is used much more widely for things that are nauseatingly cute or precious. It comes from the way the word sweet sounds when said in baby talk. Belle and Sebastian are the Beatles of twee.
(Urban Dictionary)
B&S often get that label. They are none of those things you describe, nor do I think any reasonable assessment of their work would justify the epithet. They are a great band, one of the best going. I'll say it since no one else will. I hear a hint of homophobia and machismo in it. It's a dumb word.

You're cute. Thank you. Now go home.
looking at the chirpy side of life are we Bill?

Yep, you could replace the dictionary definition of 'twee' with 'Belle and Sebastian'. It's a shame that English doesn't have intensifiers like Italian as B&A would then be 'twee-issimo'.

Sounds a bit like Bjork without the screeching. I mean that in a good way.
There was no "chipper tune" rating.
I like "Pumped Up Kicks" better
what the heck is wrong with me. i just took this cutesy song from a 3 to an 8.

Apparently they're Brazilian.
Reminds me of the closing theme of Juno. I like it.
Refreshing! What sort of mind could conjure up these happy notes in these trying times!
This is awesome!!!!!!!
I had been listening to this song on repeat. Heard it about ten times, so it was time to switch it up. Put on Radio Paradise, and this song was just starting.

First Sufjan, now this. Must be twee hour at RP.
Sounds like it should be in a pet food commercial........
Makes me want to dance on the beach with her.
My Little Hand knock upon your door;
My little hand hangin down to the floor,
My little hand feeeling so poor,
My little hand touching your feet,
My little hand making those juices flow ....
OMG, TMFI!

I don't know if it's twee or not, I hear a real infectious energy in this song, makes me want to whistle along with them.

mmm, didn't realise that "twee" was not part of "an actual language" since it is in very common use in this neck of the woods - it even features in my concise Oxford English dictionary. The solution to your being cyber-challenged could be the same as the solution to me being challenged vocabularly-wise. Try google. Just type "define twee" in the search space and voila!

Did you not use any "slang or derivatives" in your youth? What about beatnik... or hippy? Steampunk is a label for a particular cultural esthetic, just as hippy was.

I like the spirit of this, but it makes me feel like a dog that wants to howl because of the frequency of the tones. Everything is so high and tweety (as in tweeter speakers) that it's kind of hurting my ears! Fun tune though.

A bit twee, though pleasant enough. A nice tidbit which is momentarily sweet but won't linger in the memory. Are those recorders in the background?

Boober?! Whatever gave you that idea? *beats head against the wall* (Alternate response: "Boober. I AM a dude. I just like wearing frilly, silly girly clothes.") Either way, it doesn't matter in the big scheme of things, does it? The music matters. All this other stuff is just fluff.
Wow!

Is it just me that come to think of the clip of Paul Simon on Sesame Street, when hearing the intro plus the first words of this song?

I have this silly short dress that's pink, orange, purple and blue (a friend was going to throw a bunch of stuff out, and I salvaged it and a few other things), and it's light cotton and I wear it when the weather is unbearably hot because it has yards of material and flows, so it looks stupid, but it's comfortable and keeps me cool. I would wear this horrible thing and dance to this song and feel just fine. I LIKE this song. It's simple, innocent, and perfect in itself. And I'm dancing, even though the weather here isn't warm. This song warms me.

I came to see if this was Camera Obscura, and discovered a new band. Thanks, again, RP.
stop with the baby talk. the lute is the only thing that saves this song. 3.

This is a great song. I thought it was going to be some sort of ska-lite thing, but it ended up being way more interesting.

Sounds like something Muppets should be dancing to.
Perfect pronunciation of Curitiba!! Well done, Bill...
I would in a million years would have never picked these guys from Brazil ... wow ... great happy music, and would agree this is commercial music just waiting to happen.
All the best of luck to these folks to make a buck or two off this happy tune :)

That's exactly what we said in the office, twee but pleasant. Would make good music for an Apple advert.
