Cut me open
Take my heart
I give it to you
Hear the thunder
Hold me close
I beg of you
And pause the tragic ending
For just a moment more
Draw the dresser out
And slide it to the door
Take the air out of the room
Close the curtain
And kill the lights
Only seconds
Left to tell you
How I need you
Every night
Pause the tragic ending
For I'm almost out of breath
Whisper in my ear
Take a bite out of my neck
I'd give you blood if that's what you need
To stay with me
You'll be free
And I will die
Sing a song
For they all want to see
How it ends
Bring her along
She can stitch you as you mend
Bury me deep
Lest I travel you again
The tragic ending
Never ends
Do you love me?
You love me
I can feel it in my bones
In dreams you are swimming
Swimming naked out
Take the bottle
Out to sea
Back for good
You hurt her dear
Get a,
It chases me
I don't know that I am here
In this tragic ending
Where we've all those things to say
Wash the sheets
And clear your head
You'll be OK
Bury me deep down
In every song you play
The tragic ending
The tragic ending
The tragic ending
Saves the day
Happiness is a Warm Gun
Murder
Pause the Tragic ending
Uptopia ( next up)
Ik hear Tom Waits in this. Excellent
What? Where?
Draw me under, cut me open
Take my heart, I give it to you
Call the thunder and bring the storm
Hold me close, I beg of you
And pause the tragic ending
For just a moment more
Draw the dresser out
And slide it to the door
And burn the air out of the room
Close the curtain and kill the lights
Only seconds left to tell you
How I'll need you every night
And pause the tragic ending
For I'm almost out of breath
Whisper in my ear
Take a bite up on my neck
I'll give you blood
If that's what you need to stay alive
You'll be free and I will die
You've fallen down broken, no sense
No sense, hey, no sense, hey
You've fallen down broken, no sense
No sense, hey, no sense, hey
You've fallen down broken, no sense
No sense, hey, no sense
Throw the ashes out to sea
And God forbid you hurt her twice
Drink away the taste of me
And in the morning, pay the price
Oh, this tragic ending
Running out of things to say
Wash the sheets and clear your head, you'll be okay
But bury me deep down in every song you play
The tragic ending
A tragic ending
A tragic ending
Saves the day
Don't
Get
It.
Just misses for some reason. Got all the stuff, but no resonance.
Calypsus_1's first language is not English! Sometimes, the love of music forces a person to communicate thoughts and ideas by whatever way might get the point across. I don't know if Calypsus_1 is male or female, but I do know that he/she has a love of music. Stop poking fun at something you don't understand, and try to dig down and grasp the concept. And remember that not only English-speaking people frequent these boards!
Thank you.
That is what i often said: lot of people here, their language is not english! Would be nice, more users would respect that!
"Watercolor voice"...I like that!
Likewise - the song is okay - (I'll take her voice over the previous James McMurty anyday) - a little Fiona Apple-like.
"Watercolor voice"...I like that!
this music until could be considered good, but if boarded aesthetic and maked of another form, thus, hmmm. ...it is a confusion, a mixture of everything and nothing....and about the register of voice Ms. Rachael Yamagata, exists courses of perfectioning and trainings of voice....and next time, care with the teams production of the disc.

This is the first time I've heard of Yacht-Rock, but perhaps we're guilty. We have a different definition, though: My "mate" and I frequently anchor our Katrina-salvaged yacht in a small cut off the Tchefuncte River, near Madisonville, which is on the northshore of New Orleans. We listen (loudly) to RP, to XM Chill and what used to be XM Cafe and is now "Spectrum." It's an eclectic mix of Indy, Reggae, dance hip-hop, up-beat New Age and current non-pop rock. We have a decent sound system on the boat and others moored nearby - including the "Twenty-Somethings" - have told us they really enjoy what we 're listening to. We've never heard the Doobie Brothers on these outings, although the Doobies have done some nice stuff about our area. Nevertheless, we "yacht-rockers" have moved on.
On first hearing, this strikes me as kinda cool. The music is not "Yacht-rock," but the mix on it has got an almost "Yacht-rock" studio treatment without it sounding contrived and sterile.
I look forward to hearing it again.

mid-70s to mid-80s pop-rock like The Doobie Bros esp the stuff related to that Yacht Rock show! But I'm not getting the "treatment" connection with this!
I look forward to hearing it again.

Edit: skipped her concert because she was going on stage at 11pm and was going to be a 1 hour drive. I love her voice. Disc 2 of this album has 6 songs, all of which are more upbeat. I just can't listen to an entire disc of downers. Maybe when I was 16 years old LOL

Says it all really.
Promising young talent and easy on the eyes to boot. I'm enjoying getting to know her work on RP. Thanks Bill.
5 / 6 to start...
