Your pockets are full
Of stolen glasses
But what's the point?
You've had your fill
You've had your fill

You shed your skin
You're one of them
That somber fool
Escape while you can
Escape while you can

You're coming out of your shell
You've got a beautiful view
You're gonna shake it off

This is the place
That you were born
It's making a comeback
Since you've been gone
Since you've been gone

Don't waste your time
Learning kling-on
It ain't no use
Escape while you can
Escape while you can

All good info, but I think you missed the point of the lyrics :)

Really.  I think quite a few people missed the point and/or context of the lyrics.  Maybe not.

I was digging the song, until it got to the part about learning Klingon being a waste of time. Learning languages is a great way to excercise the mind and helps to fend off dimensia in later life. The brain is just like a muscle, and needs to be worked to continue to be strong. If you're geeky enough to learn Klingon, you may have also learned a few computer programming languages, for example, or a musical instrument. Or you may know other "human" spoken languages.

Saying don't learn Klingon is like saying don't learn to play the ukulele. Even if it does absolutly nothing but give you a few hours of amusement every week, it's not a waste of time.

Ummm...  the only people that speak Klingon are actors who have to learn it for their Star Trek role and sweaty nerds with no need of female companionship.  I'd call that a waste of time.

I played around with Klingon and Quenya as a kid... and now I'm a computational linguist. It's not entirely useless :oP.

Lately, I've heard a few more of their songs than I had before here, and as a result I checked them out further, and I've happily been getting way into this cool group that flew under so many peoples' radar for so long it's like a crime.  Their guitars and soundwork are fun and throwbackish to simple bliss, their lyrics sometimes verge on Steely Dan- or Cake-like wryness but it's all delivered with lots of nearly B-52-isms and too bad they split but oh, what an oeuvre! and wow, they have about 8 albums that instantly vastly vivified, broadened, deepened, and intensely interestified my iTunes collection. THANKS TO RP for turning me onto LUNA!
