Lyrics:

How could it be that you must leave to live in a world without me
And how could it be that I must say goodbye and fade in your memory

How could it be that you must leave to live in a world without me
And how could it be that I must say goodbye and fade in your memory
And how can I stand to let you leave
There must be a way home from here
There must be something we share
There must be a way home from here
Beautiful voice she has,

lyrics:

You're living like a stranger
All wrapped up in the outside eye
 You're living life in danger
Never reaching for what's there inside

 Chorus:
Once over the world there's nothing left to hide
Nothing but the truth already sees
In other words when the glitter falls, shine'll be wearing thin
If not for the beauty within

 The flower blooms in springtime
The dirt's reward for all it gives
You want more than you're given
But you're given most of what there is

When it all becomes a wonder
When the eye becomes a window for deceit
Still until it all goes under
Beauty is what beauty has to be

Truly Godlike...wish RP would play it more...such a beautiful song.
I like this...but its a tad long/repititious.
This sounds particularly sweet today and I just bumped it up to a 9.
I discovered this when someone included it on a mix CD for me. Hearing it never gets old.
love the fiddle.....be still ....my heart
Godlike.

Just google the chord progresion that Rob describes. You'll get more info than you wanted.

Songs copying/influenced by Pachelbel's Canon in D major
1.Vitamin C- graduation (friends forever)
2.Aereosmith-Cryin
3.Coven - One tin soldier
4.blues traveler - Hook
5.green day basket case
6.matchbox 20 push
7.better than ezra - good
8.bush -machine head
9.U2 -with or without you
10.Natalie imbruglia - torn
11. Avril Lavigne -Sk8ter boi
12. twisted sister -we're not gonna take it
13.Cyndi Grecco-making our dreams come true (Laverne & Shirley theme song)
14.bob Marley - no woman no cry

Okay, based on the songs listed above, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the reason for the common theme is a Jungian musical archtype and not any kind of intent on the part of the songwriters involved...

My tired brain read that as "Musket-fest," and I thought, wow, they really like their guns in PA. The old-school kind.

Yeah, I need some more coffee.

Not bad for a singing Buffalo
Hah, I heard Pachelbel in there and thought, "I wonder if anybody else is hearing this..."  Thanks for not disappointing me!
A possible 10, for the strings (and I'm talking fiddle, here) alone ~ WOW.
They play twice a year at SpringFest and Magnolia Festival ("MagFest") at Suwannee River Music Park in Live Oak, FL.  These are great 3 day music festivals with something for everyone - definitely a big party and a LOT of fun!   The Buffalo does the midnight jam and they often play until 2 or 3 in the morning.  Check out https://www.magmusic.com/ for more information.

True story told to me by a roady at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle year ago... {#Cowboy} They're a really fun band! Great jam music...

{#Clap}  Thanks for the added info!
Hypnotic quality.

I like this band; must get some of its music.
pachelbel would be so proud, love it, some crushes last a life time too
Wonder how Donna likes being called a buffalo—unless of course she is a buffalo.

ok- surely this is a strange question- but does anyone know of a program that allows you to "type" in a musical progression, and can identify what it is for you?  i knew i heard pachelbel's canon in this, but did not know that was what it *was* till i read it here.  this happens to me all the time!  wouldn't a program that could do that be so cool?

I have heard that the same chord progression as Pachelbel's canon is commonly used in pop music.

The Canon is everywhere.

I am not kidding.

I first "herd" them in FL about 9 years ago.  They are from NY (I think near Buffalo).  I don't know where the name Donna comes from.  The only female in the group is Tara Nevins - lead singer on most of their songs.  They call their fans "The Herd".  {#Lol}

This is really cool.

As soon as I heard that violin, Rob's standup routine popped into my head...SOOO funny!
I love this band! This is a really good CD as well.
DTB has been around a long time and they're big fun so if they're in your area, GO. And plan to dance your butt off.
Bit of a chill session isnt it. I like it
This gets my vote for "best band name of the week".
I love this band, they are local talent here, along with Mary Lorson (Madder Rose), Slim Redmond, Jennie Sterns, the list goes on. . . I enjoy living in this area for its musical talent. I'm from PA originally and not the same kind of musician grows there. Something is in the water in the southern tier, and even the high schools and churches produce musicians of the highest quality—it's sometimes incomprehensible; when DONNA makes their Johnson City run I always go, for a rockin' good time.

This going excellent with my coffee and fire, wish my paper was here!
They rock. Sweet sound. 8
A great album from a great band. The are definately more rockin' tracks than this one on the album - though this is quite sweet.
