...the church's new album futher/deeper just hit the US market this month: my copy arrived in the mail this morning!..

I am hearing Lloyd Cole. . . Not only the vocal but the style to some extent. Not that its a bad thing, if he HAD done it, it would have been one of the best things he had done.

The vocals seem to be recorded too loud for the music.............kinda hurts the cut.................like The Church though.
