I've got a bad boy and that's alright with me
His dirty laundry is nothing that I can't keep clean
And when he needs an alibi
He can use me all night
What's the fun in playing it safe?
I think I'd rather misbehave
Your way
I'm just a bad girl, that's why we get along
Won't make excuses for anything I'm doing wrong
I'll pull the trigger in a flash
Watch out honey, step back
What's the fun in playing it safe?
Wouldn't you rather misbehave
My way
Oh baby show me the money my evil friend
Let's go to Mexico, drink margaritas in sin
I'll light a candle for good luck
Now come on baby let's...
What's the fun in playing it safe?
I think I'd rather misbehave
Your way
What's the fun in playing it safe?
Think I'd rather misbehave
We're simply mad
Simply mad
His dirty laundry is nothing that I can't keep clean
And when he needs an alibi
He can use me all night

I absolutely love this song. Lots of neat sounds.
I remember when I used to buy Putumayo CDs to get exposed to the same kind of new sounds I now find from RP.

Interesting fact about the singer, Shana Halligan (for those old enough to remember BS&T):
She is the daughter of Dick Halligan, a founding member of the American rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Don't be discouraged, jahgirl. The worst that can happen is you end up being a reminder.
One does not have to be gay to know about Carmen Miranda or the Merengue, just maybe a bit older than you.

Maybe you're gay, you sound like that's possible, give a try one time and see how you feel about it. Wwwwaittt... you ARE gay, duh. A handle like misterbearbaby says everything and you knew Carmen Miranda and dancing merenge. The men I want fuck don't know the name of that dance.. I apologize if I'm incorrect, but if you think I am. return to my first sentence. I can't get any of my gay friends to listen to RP. Most of them have TERRIBLE music taste. But one, a brother-same of mine, has excellent music taste, has given me the gift of meeting the artists and watching from sidestage, I will never forget those times. But he thinks RP is a waste of time. He likes to control his playlist, period... and he's a great DJ, has spun many parties into dancing oblivion, even just six partiers will dance, he knows how to rock it. Anyway, try out the male interarraction, and see if it turns you on as much as you sound.bearbaby... confidentially of course, the joke is prob on me because you ARE gay, which is great, don't know why I automatically assume a man is hetero. Sorry if I embarrassed you. I'm new to this, but speaking freely to strangers is oddly addicting and therapuetic when I need it so desperately and I sure as shit don't want to be the crazy lady at Ralphs talking to everyone about more than they want to hear. So I'll just be the crazy lady at home safely behind my computer. WTF? Please ramble some more. I think it's been a year since I last heard this, and boy if this doesn't define a 7 rating for me. Not bad, not great, no real history with this song, reminds one of other songs, good groove, yeah....almost exactly what the 7 rating was made for....and Long Live RP!!
So weird....just about 30 minutes ago I went to the mailroom where I work, where they have a radio playing and the Dr. Dre song that samples this track was on...I commented that the station I listen to (RP RULES!) often plays the song it was sampled from and I'm always momentarily hoping to hear actual hip-hop on RP (I know, probably NOT gonna happen) - not sure how the hell BillG knew I just had the conversation. Maybe he's like Google or Alexa?
Long Live RP!!

First time hearing this. I'm praying that the rest is as good as the first few notes!!
Are they a sample from something? My shoulders are moving. Yeaaaahh!!
Edit: Yes, in the heat of the moment didn't think to check older comments. Right you are guys, "Parce que tu crois", Charles Aznavour, 1966! And Dr Dre's What's the Difference is slower. Still, I think I like Bitter Sweet's better.
Thank you all for sharing your knowledge. Thanks RP :-)

I've always liked this. Not heard that often these days, but when it comes on it feels groovy and puts me where I was when it was out...

A little mambo, a little cake, mix with breathy voice, slip in a bit of orchestration, just the concoction for diversity which is why I am here at RP every second I can be.
Shana Halligan can do the breathy /whiney thing anytime, I'm OK with it.

The breathy, simulated torch, 1930s vibe is just trying too hard. Not that much fun really.

The duo was formed when Halligan answered an ad listed on Craig's List for a singer posted by Shahani, who had previously founded the Supreme Beings of Leisure.

Shoes, hats, whatever... You can leave it all on!
i like this but i am squeaky clean
omg the things I could do with this song...um maybay the whole album. :o3
In These Shoes by Kirsty MacColl sounds almost identical to this in parts.
I think Bitter Sweet owes her estate a few royalties.
Like a mix between Jem and Shivaree. Much likey. Now I have a craving to hear Jem!
Edit: YAY! They started Jem right after. (giddy)
sounds a lot like The Cardigans to me.
Seriously: This is cool!
I hate music done by arranging some samples. But this one has something... :)

This is a remix, the song is from the album "The Mating Game" - it is awesome (if you like this style).

The singer reminds me of Lily Allen.
I just switched to sitting on an exercise ball as a chair, and I'm bouncing along to this one!!!

At first I thought this was a terrible Dre remix, but after further listening I discovered the song as its own terrible entity.
