I saw the tigers of the ocean
They come to me
'Cuz they can see my fear
Losing your love is without sunshine
I'd rather burn my heart on the beach

I had a dream of Barracuda

'when I lost a line of water
my soul starts to draw an oblique line
it takes me to the land of Orion
in the clouds of methane'

Don't bite me now with your teeth of fear
I'm searching
What I want is pleasure

Isn't it Fluxus, or Concept Art? But, boyond of all, it's freedom!
Good Tune!! Interesting mix of gernres. I never heard of her before.  Thanx RP!
I always have to check if this Jesca Hoop being a little stranger than usual.
As a brazilian I can say that the instruments sounds right like samba, and thats a good thing - samba is a very very rich style. And I really feel sad cuz I never heard brazilian tracks here.

But, honestly, what the duck is this? 3 at best, only cuz of the samba influence
Hmm I knew I recognized her.   From Handsome Boy Modeling School, first album.  Did a song with Mike D.  Tried to post a link but was denied.  Go check it for yourself.
Complex sound, and they are trying to please, but I'm not impressed so much with the way it hits my ears.
Just oddball enough!
Laugh-a while you can, monkey girl.

Just a notch better😁
It's a Coney Island sound, sorry I forgot what else , oh yes it has fine polished parts and then it slides into a junk tard
This is so bad it must be Yoko Ono.
I may be second to the dance here.. but I've got to say this is Bjorked-up.
Quirky, attention-grabbing, fun, and verrrrry RP, my dear :o). It's this sort of thing popping up unexpectedly on the playlist that has me coming back to RP time and time, aye going back over a decade. 8 from the intrigued Nottingham jury.
"clouds of methane"

describes my impression of this piece.
nothin says "sucko barfo" like...well...this.

What is this?

funny..

:D :)

Whiney?? Think you had a bad night, dude... Bright and clear, that's what the voice is to me.

Dude, At least that's pleasurable!
The whiney grating voice is a lot to take this morning.

A for thinking outside the box. But no, it wasn't a compliment.

HAHA! Think I figured it out....I think it's the intro to an HBO show. Any takers? Yeah...what he said
When it starts, it reminds me of HBO's "Real Sex."
Id rather take a crap than listen to this.
i like this better than cibo matto.
This songs seems like a brazilian lyric.
A Japanese take on serious pop. Very cool IMO

True, true... I dig it though, mainly because its weird and pisses off all the squares.
At first I did not care for it, but the analogy that it pisses off L7's and she has a great voice plus the the straw in the mickey d's cup sound, It has its place but I would not drive cross town to buy it though.

Not sure about that check this video on you tube and tell me if she can sing (click here)
Thats a good laugh! Thats the most awkward stage performance I've seen.
Sounded something like a song of sorts.
This is awful...it's making me nauseous

I love the soda straw in a plastic lid sound. Sounds almost exactly like a McDonalds small orange juice cup+lid with the fat straw.

I kind of like it, in a Cibo Matto sort of way. Wouldn't be my first choice, but listenable. c.

This song doesn't seem to be getting much love, so you all should go watch Cibo Matto's video for their song Sugar Water. The song is not only much cooler, but the fact that the entire video was filmed in one cut is pretty damn impressive.
I love Michael Gondry's swooping cameras and dreamy fantastical images. Everything he does is fun to watch and puzzle over. He also does stuff for Beck, Bjork, Radiohead... and Kylie Minouge :) (which is similar to the Cibo Matto video).

It's so catchy his caps lock button keeps getting stuck in the groove.
mAKE it STOP!
this starts off sort of interesting but gets wicked annoying in no time. NO TIME I SAY!!!

Really reminds me of Yoko Ono and that Plastic Dolls concoction that the world had the misfortune of listening to.
Not even close. This isn't a racous cacophony of Yoko noise,it's a tight, well played song with rythmn patterns so complex I can't follow them(I am percussionally challenged though).
Wow, this is easily the worst thing I'v heard in a while, that album cover is awful as well. Really reminds me of Yoko Ono and that Plastic Dolls concoction that the world had the misfortune of listening to.

This reminds me of No Doubt's quirkier moments
PLEASE throw this OUT THE WINDOW!!!
This is really bad.
I realize they're not the same song, but I'll take Heart's "Barracuda" any day of the week over whatever this is...

Too much art. Not enough music.

I'd say he's a candidate for the zoo too, but hey this is cafe groove complete with latin feel.

If you like the 'idea' of this music, but would like to hear it realised more fully, I recommend: Persephone's Bees I saw them open for Cake and they were quite excellent. Strangely enough, their song 'City of Love' ran over the opening credits of Will Ferrel's 'Bewitched', a song and band Way Too Cool for that movie.
I saw them quite some time ago, back when I was young and hot and still living in San Francisco... :)

... yes! zaktly!
This is growing on me - lurching spasmodically from a 2 to a 6 over the last several weeks. Anyone else know the loungey band Touch & Go? Sort of a similar sound.

That would be from the guy on the corner with the squeeze box and the dancing monkey.

Is that a real cheesy organ or an organ sample on a Casio? I like it!
I like the goofy organ/accordian/harmonica thing. I just checked out the album credits. In addition to 2 keyboardists there are also 3 other different people credited on the organ(not keyboards, not piano. Organ). No wonder it's so unique sounding.

I think RJD2 used the music in one of his songs that RadioParadise often plays. Something off of Deadringer maybe? Can't quite remember.

Damn, it's nice to hear from her again!

Very bizarre. I wouldn't expect anything less from one half of Cibo Matto.

Awesome, yeah! Yuka Honda (other half of Cibo Matto) also has a super-cool solo album that came out the year before this one called 'eucademix' -- which Hatori also collaborated on. I haven't been able to find Honda's solo album called "Memories Are My Only Witness." Anyone heard it?
It's available at Amazon. You can listen to samples of each track. (click here)

Entered on 1/16/07 (16/1/07): ec·dy·sis the shedding or casting off of an outer coat or integument by snakes, crustaceans, etc. Entered today, 1/29/07(29/1/07). Mmm, Green onions with Barracuda? What's for dessert?
I had no idea she had a solo album, this is awesome.
Some really interesting things going on in the arrangement -- too bad her voice is so annoying!
Former Cibo Matto?
pretty awful.........
Amelie in Japan? Its not just the accordion, this is a whimsical tune.
