Agreed. Her work on the Magnolia soundtrack had some standouts, such as "Wise Up". And I will forever love "That's Just What You Are". BTW, every time I hear or see her a vision of her ordering lingonberry pancakes floats through my head.

I've liked nearly everything Aimee's done, including her songs from Til Tuesday. This may not be one of her best but it still beats some songs from lesser artists.

Funny that the one singer/songwriter whom I respect the most is among the most underrated. I'll just have to say more good things about her to make up for the lack of recognition from the music industry. 
Got to play the tambourine and bongos on stage with her last year in Boston. Have loved her since Til Tuesday. Still totally real and genuine in her music and self.

I really like this song of hers. The slower songs on The Forgotten Arm are the most interesting, because that's when she breaks out of the live-sounding guitar/piano mold.
I can see how someone would get tired of her familiar style and motifs. The last album sounded really samey after a while. But she's still the master of her chosen niche.

I don't know, all her songs are starting to sound the same, kinda whiney and shoe gazing. I was a fan but her music is not fresh or interesting anymore. Its the same mope-ola song after song.
I really like Aimee Mann's music, but have been somewhat disappointed by the last couple of albums. Her first two solo albums were amazing--Whatever & I'm with Stupid. She's still worth listening to, but I wish she would get Jon Brion to produce her again.

saw Aimee w/ 'Til Tuesday in Augusta, Maine circa 1984 backing up the Billy Idol tour.....been hooked on Aimee ever since!!! 
I never got on with this album, but hearing this makes me want to give it a second chance.
Aimee is just plain OK! Nothing terribly unique or inspiring about her voice, songwrtiing or delivery...IMHO, Bill has a crush on her...hehehe

Anyone who REALLY thinks the Kinks are played more than the Beatles here needs to lay off whatever they're smoking. That stuff'll make ya stupid.
I mean, c'mon, just consider the relative body of work available for each group. There are 101 uploaded Beatles songs on RP versus 23 Kinks songs. I have nothing against the Davies bros., but its not even close. There's a reason why the BEATLES appear more frequently.
Still, this is an inherently silly argument. Of the last 500 songs played on RP, there were exactly:
1 Beatles song
0 Kinks song
I defy anyone to mix a broader playlist than Bill does. And, anyone who complains about song choices better be prepared to cite some data if they want ANY credibility. Its all about sample size.

You do have a point there. How many different Porcupine Tree songs are there? Well, how ever many there are, they are ALL played on RP. This is so that we can say that this song was only played once in four days. We can still get sick of a particular group/band/artist even though their individual songs are getting played once a week.
If only the Grateful Dead was in the rotation as heavily as Aimee Mann....
