I'm glad you're still here on Earth
For a while I didn't know what to think, darling
This is what I look like now
Me and the boy of my dreams
It's a nice photo, he has a girl
But I'm going to bump her off soon
Oh, I have a big surprise
I'm coming to London, possibly this summer

I'd love to spend some time with you
I'd love to spend some time with you

I hear things are outrageously priced in London
Is that true?
Anyway, I'm still at school in Minneapolis
Studying theatre, oh, what fun it is
Everybody seems to be the same here
There's no happy medium, no way to go but up
Please send me a postcard, I collect them

Saw these back in the day, excellent melodic band, check out Painted Moon
the vocals are pure cheese!
Love this but the vocalist is completely lost in the mix.
This has that 80s film score sound to it. Dig it.
Catchy melody. A little longer than it needs to be...
Love it! Always thought the music was first-rate; kinda "Tehran 1979 w/ Debbie Harry," ~ dig it! This time I've had a chance to sit and scope the words... Interesting! Pretty cool; nice n sly... One might think, "Oh, a letter from St. Paul to the Corinthians," and expect advice on keeping The Faith in the face of some ruthless Roman oppression, but... "-- I hear things are outrageously priced in London -- is that true? Anyway, I'm still in school in Minneapolis..." Whoah! What a killer side-step! Multi-level, multi-layer lateral thinking like that, set to music, to boot! makes my heart race and sparks my synapses. RP propagates the best waves! Thanks!
I find this song mesmerising. It's creepy and wonderful at the same time!

If my way back memory-machine is still functioning I recall that this track maybe got some play on The Spirit of Radio CFNY back in the day (before  whatever corporate monster bought them) ?   Anyone care to confirm my rather foggy recollections?

Yup!
Odd but interesting
How did I miss these guys back in the day?!?!  Right in my wheelhouse.

Edit:  I had heard "Painted Moon"  and "I See Red" just not this song, it's just that I couldn't remember, had to go and do some research.  I feel grounded again... hahaha.
Wow, hearing this made my day. I remember when this album came out and love the quirky-ness of this song in particular.
Make it stopppppppppppp!
This song is so weird and I love it. I can't believe it's from 1987!!!  And I haven't heard it until RP!

They're printed in the "Lyrics box" in the middle column.

You can always tell it's the 1980s when they're doing those dissonant Michael Hedges guitar licks.
Wish the voice over was better mixed here. I can barely make out the words.
Well shame on me.
Here i am sitting in my 'Safe European English Home' and i've NEVER even heard of this band before!
I dunno how that's even possible, but it is.
It made me stop, look,& read. Now i wanna hear it again...

Makes me wonder why a band from Scotland would pick Minneapolis/St. Paul?

I suppose it was a direct connection, but a part of me likes to think they are throwing darts at map in a pub in Edinburgh. What would be the inverse? Prince writing a song called "Postcards from Dundee"

It's a pun using the idea of letters from the apostle Paul.
Never heard this before today! I thought it might be some old Roxy at first. But wow, 1987.

I have it on vinyl as well. The entire album is great, especially this instrumental.
I hear Flock of Seagulls vibe. Shades of Grey. Nice.
Really cool, rather unique sound; trippy, crisp, and atmospheric... I quite like it!
Just so good.
Funny, because somewhere around 1987, I think I may have dated that same girl.

Exactly my sentiment.  This was a favourite of mine at the time.  I'm so pleased to finally hear it on RP!

Precisely the same thoughts for me!  Wonderful song, brings back very fond memories.  A bit surprised not to hear it on RP before.
Does this sound like Ultravox to anybody?
This entire album is great and I'm NOT surprised at all to hear it on RP.

This is such a unique and cool tune.  Some great tracks on this album.  I got sucked in watching Painted Moon video on Much Music back in the day and bought the disc.  Bullets and Blue Eyes is also a great tune.

This is kind of odd...in a good way.
Oh wow!! Just gotta love RP and its music supply chain for bringing a constant supply of awesomeness to our ears...

Thanks B&R plus all the contributors
I also hear it right now, too, and thought it sonds quite 80's like...
Never heard that one, but catchy tune!
never played. how does that work then?
